Gnon is one of the antagonist in Dragon Quest: The Emblem of Roto. He is the lord of the beast and is the commander of a massive army of monsters.
Personality[]
Gnon is very arrogant, believing that he is unkillable. He also loves to play tricks, forcing the king of Aliahan to give Arus to him. Gnon also doesn't accept failure, and that includes minor failure such as accidentally dropping his weapon on the ground as he killed two of his minions for that. Even though Gnon is indeed evil, he still has his standard, questioning Imajin's action of releasing Leviathan.
Biography[]
Gnon is first seen together with Dragonlord and Gorgona, where they were reporting their achievements to Imajin.
Soon, after multiple failures to kill Arus, Imajin decided to send Dragonlord and Gorgona to release the Leviathan to kill Arus, much to Gnon's shock and horror, as Gnon was aware that the Leviathan was capable of devouring the entire world if left unchecked. Luckily, Leviathan was defeated. Gnon then questioned Imajin's decision, only to be scolded by Imajin. Gnon then asked for Imajin's permission to fight Arus, which Imajin agreed. Gnon then ordered two rhinoceraxes to give his halberd to him, but the halberd was proven to be too heavy for them to carry, so they accidentally dropped it. Gnon then angrily bisected them for dropping his halberd. After that, Gnon and his army headed towards Aliahan.
When Gnon arrived, he threatened the king that if he didn't give Arus to him, he would attack it. Thus, the cowardly king gave Arus to Gnon's army. Gnon had his army to overwhelm Arus, and while Arus's friends came to help, they were too exhausted in the battle. During the battle between one of Gnon's generals and Killa the swordman, Killa defeated the general, so Gnon executed him for his failure. In other to save the heroes, Tarkin walked towards to Gnon, but it was already too late when Gnon realized that Tarkin was going to cast Kamikazee, thus wiping out Gnon's force. Gnon dodged it, and after Gnon killed Poron's Rampage Dracky, Lone Slime and Apprentice Ghost, Poron's powers awaken and overwhelmed Gnon with his spells. Forcing Gnon to transform into his true form-a monstrous sphinx, Gnon easily wiped out Aliahan's army, but with the combined force of Killa, Poron, Yao and Arus, they all cast Kazapple, sending Arus's sword towards Gnon, striking his forehead, electrocuting him. While Gnon claimed that he would never die after taking that blow, the strike was proven to be fatal as Gnon soon succumbed to his injuries and died standing. His corpse was later incinerated by Jagan.
