Stop hand

Be still. Listen. Do you see it? Do you feel it? Calling to you from the unknown... It seeps through the cracks. It seeks you. Reach into the shadows. To what might have been. Now, young God. Time is a precious thing to waste.
~ The text upon unlocking the Goat in singleplayer.

The Goat is the deuteragonist of the 2022 roguelite video game Cult of the Lamb. They are the enigmatic mirror version of the Lamb who was introduced in the game following the Unholy Alliance update, serving as the second playable character in the co-op mode (or an alternative skin for the Lamb in the single player mode).

Personality[]

Much like with the Lamb, much of the Goat's personality is kept purposefully ambiguous.

That being said, an animated short implies that the Goat is more arrogant and competitive than the Lamb, trying to prove they better than them in any way possible. Despite this, they still do care for them and do not hesitate to help them when they fall into the frozen water.

The trailers also seem to indicate that they're slightly more aggressive than their mirror counterpart.

Trivia[]

  • The Goat's bleat is based on a meme that originated from a YouTube video called the The Screaming Sheep.
  • According to an official Twitter thread, it is unknown where the Goat comes from, but they are not related to the Lamb by blood.
