Goblin knights are minor antagonist from Heroes of Might and Magic IV: The Gatherings Storm and Heroes of Might and Magic IV: The Winds of War. They are monsters created from goblins and other creatures by the mad wizard Hexis.
History[]
The goblin knights first appeared in Axeoth and were the twisted creatures of the mad wizard Hexis. His allies didn't use them in great numbers, but the mad wizard created a lot of them and they made up the bulk of his army. His allies, the power-hungry and evil sorcerers, druids and necromancers used them in large numbers to pillage the countryside of Devonshire, killing innocents while the forces and laws of nature began to change chaotically. Five heroes wanted to stop them, Bohb, Kozuss, Agraynel, Dogwoggle and Alita Eventide, who were extremely powerful and possessed artifacts of awesome power. The goblin knights defeated almost anyone and anything in large numbers, but the heroes recognized them and their weak points during their missions, and because of this, they were gradually stopped and destroyed more and more. Finally, when Hexis was defeated, they managed to destroy most of the goblin knights, but there were survivors.
They later emerged when the kingdom of Channon was attacked by five conquerors, including the megalomaniac, insane King Spazz Maticus who wanted to rule the world. His allies were the dreaded megadragons, but the goblin knights also joined him and gradually became more numerous. Using their old fighting style and armor, after they became a lot together with the megadragons, they were almost unstoppable in defeating the opponents and the forces of Channon in their way. They also took part in the final battle, the siege of Rylos, but it was not revealed which conqueror won in the end.
Powers and abilities[]
Strengths[]
Compared to the goblins of Enroth, the goblin knights were very strong and extremely dangerous opponents. They were taller and stronger than an average human, but which is why they were especially effective, that they were fast and agile even in their heavy armor and were able to react in time even to the attacks of very fast creatures or heroes. Their weapon was a sharp, curved sword with which they could very easily inflict serious injuries, a single goblin knight could finish off several opponents or even a moderately strong hero at the same time, and in large numbers they could easily destroy entire armies or strong heroes. Another strength was that they were resistant to magic, so they were also very effective against mages, and their armor provided adequate protection against archers and crossbowmen.
Weaknesses[]
The goblin knight was an very strong and efficient monster, but he still had weaknesses. Most of the creatures of Axeoth and heroes didn't stand a chance against them, but they couldn't fight properly against the strongest monsters. Black dragons, hydras, angels, devils, sea monsters, gargantuans, behemots, frenzied gnashers, titans, dragon golems and megadragons were able to break through their armor and kill them, and legendary and extremely powerful heroes could easily destroy them from a distance with their arrows or magic projektiles. Another weakness of the creature was that it was resistant to magic, but it was not completely immune to it, meaning that extremely powerful wizard, sorcerers or mages could easily destroy them with their terrifying and destructive spells.
