Goff

Goff is the main antagonist of the Enterprise episode "Precious Cargo".

He was portrayed by Scott Klace.

Biography[]

Goff and his brother Plinn kidnapped Kaitaama, the First Monarch-elect of the planet Krios, intending to hold her for ransom. They kept her frozen in a stasis pod aboard their ship but it began to fail. They sent out a distress call which was answered by Enterprise. They claimed they were transporting Kaitaama home and that she was in stasis because they didn't have enough food and air for the journey otherwise. While Commander Tucker set to work repairing the pod, Goff took advantage of Captain Archer's hospitality. He rejected Archer's offer to take them to Krios in the faster Enterprise, saying they had to keep to their schedule, but accepted his offer of a meal and a bath.

During the meal, Goff received an alert that the stasis pod was offline and went to investigate. Finding Kaitaama awake but still restrained, he knocked out Tucker and called Plinn to join him. When he saw that Plinn was under security escort, he opened fire on the approaching security guard and retreated back into his ship, abandoning Plinn. He fled the scene in his freighter after using a cloud of dilithium hydroxls to disable Enterprise's warp drive. He then held Tucker at gunpoint and ordered him to complete repairs on the stasis pod.

Tucker and Kaitaama managed to escape from their cell and leave the freighter in an escape pod. Goff used a homing device in the pod to track them to a nearby moon. He attacked their camp and ended up fighting with Tucker, who he came close to drowning before being knocked unconscious by Kaitaama. With Enterprise arriving not long after, Goff and Plinn were handed over to a Krios battle cruiser.
