The Gold and Silver Brothers are the infamous tag team of two brothers Kinkaku and Ginkaku. They were once members of the Hidden Cloud Village but gain an infamous reputation for their criminal actions. Both brothers had pieces of Kurama's chakra. They were resurrected by Kabuto Yakushi to fight for the Akatsuki army for the Fourth Ninja World War before they were defeated and sealed away.

Biography[]

The Gold and Silver Brothers were the ones who attacked Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, and A, the Second Raikage, during an alliance meeting and tried to steal the Nine-tails for themselves. Later they were eaten by the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox and the brothers ate the meat inside the demon fox to stay alive but they acquired a piece of the fox's chakra. They were rumored to be distantly related to the Sage of Six paths due assimilating a piece of Kurama, the Nine-tails' chakra.

They were revived by Kabuto Yakushi to fight in the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Both of them later fought Darui, Samui, and Atsui. They sealed Samui and Atsui into the Benihisago, but Darui managed to defeat Ginkaku and sealed him into the Benihisago. This enraged Kinkaku and caused him to transform into the six-tailed fox form where he proceed to wreak havoc on the army. He was sealed into the Kohaku no Johei after his battle with the First Division. Tobi later appeared captures both of them and fed them to the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path in order to revive the Ten-Tails.

After the defeat of the Ten-Tails jinchuuriki, Tobi, the Benihisago and Kohaku no Johei were released in the form of the Nine tails chakra. However, it was resealed into the statue again and the Ten-Tails was revived by Madara. Seeing how the tools were a strain on his chest, Madara spits out the tools which fell on Guy and Rock Lee. Tenten decided to seal the tools for later use but Madara broke the seal. After Infinite Tsukyomi was dispelled, Darui managed to release Samui and Atsui but the Gold and Silver Brothers' fates remain unknown. Tenten shown she has possession of the tools in the epilogue chapter, along with the Kokinjou that Kinkaku was wearing upon being sealed, thus raising the question of how it was acquired off of Kinkaku, hinting a possibility that he was released and returned to the afterlife alongside his brother like the other Edos.

Trivia[]

  • In the game Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, they were featured as mini video game bosses. With the partners in crime duo encountering Darui, and being defeated by the Shinobi upon being sealed by the Kohaku no Jōhei. Rather than the two being sealed individually by the Benihisago gourd and the Kohaku no Jōhei pot respectfully.
  • Kinkaku and Ginkaku, although very similar to the point of being mistaken for twins, are actually brothers with a few days' difference. In fact, they are half-brothers with different mothers, with Kinkaku being the older brother of the two.
