Gomah is the main antagonist of the 2024 fantasy martial arts anime television series, Dragon Ball Daima.
He was the Vice-Supreme Demon King of the Demon Realm under Dabura, the actual Supreme Demon King. After Dabura's death, Gomah took the mantle of Supreme Demon King. He is responsible for turning the Z-Fighters into children, setting the events of Daima into motion.
He is voiced by Showtaro Morikubo and by Tom Laflin in the English Dub.
Appearance[]
Gomah is a short demon who wears a skintight red and black body suit with white gloves and white boots with grey soles. Gomah's suit seems to have a large "M" like insignia and dons a white cape. He also has a white face with red underlines under each of his eyes which also have a black eyeliner. He has a pair of large horns that seem to be fused with his head rather than growing out of them separately and has distinctive pointy ears. He also carries around a dark purple staff which has golden ends and a red crystal ball on the top.
While wearing the Evil Third Eye on his forehead, he gained a large amount of muscle all over his body.
Personality[]
Gomah has an extremely short temper, prone to having temper tantrums and fits over even the smallest of inconveniences. He is also disrespectful to others, mocking Neva, Sir Warp, and even his own aide Degesu at some point. Gomah is also very cowardly and easily paranoid, with his paranoia can override his sound judgment, as he believed the Z-Fighters had no reason to invade the Demon Realm until Arinsu preyed on his paranoia, showing he can be manipulated to an extent. Despite this, Gomah is an extremely arrogant individual, having pride in his status as Supreme Demon King.
After acquiring the Evil Third Eye, Gomah becomes even more arrogant than before due to his newfound power, constantly smiling and breaking out into laughter multiple times during his all-out showdown with the Z-Fighters. After his defeat, Gomah begged to not be sealed away, further exemplifying his cowardice.
Above all, Gomah is an extremely malevolant individual, as he continued and even exacerbated the senseless cruelty done by the Gendarmerie, especially in the Third Demon World, to the point that Panzy considered Gomah to be worse than Dabura as Supreme Demon King, despite him not being King for long.
Biography[]
Gomah was a Vice-Supreme Demon King to Dabura. At some point, Dabura left the Demon Realm and traveled to the outside world, where he would be brainwashed by Babidi.
After the events of the Majin Buu Saga, Gomah and his aide Degesu used the Magic Monitor in the Demon Realm Palace to watch the events and find out Dabura's fate, both being surprised that Dabura was brainwashed and ultimately killed by Majin Buu. With Dabura's death, Gomah was now the Supreme Demon King in both name and reality. Both continued to watch the events on Earth, being shocked at the strength of individuals from the outside world which culminated in shock when they witnessed Buu's demise at the hands of Goku. Degesu praised Gomah, who smiled in glee knowing nobody could oppose him. Their excitement was quickly suppressed by Dr. Arinsu, who played to Gomah's anxiety by suggesting the individuals who defeated Buu would invade the Demon Realm. With his anxiety at a high, Gomah quickly makes a plan to use Earth's Dragon Balls to turn them all into children (as the Earth's Dragon Balls are based in "white magic", meaning they can't be used to kill), as well as to acquire the Evil Third Eye, an item that grants incredible power when placed on one's forehead.
Gomah and Degesu bring Neva, an old Namekian along with him due to his knowledge of Dragon Balls, and the three travel to Earth via Sir Warp and arrive at Kami's Lookout. Gomah asks Dende to gather the Dragon Balls, but Dende refuses. Gomah then orders Neva to gather the Dragon Balls, promising him an extended life span of 1,000 years. Neva gathers all the Balls and restores them for usage. Degesu prevents Dende from interfering and summons Shenron. Gomah wishes for all the individuals who fought Buu to be turned into children, and those who were already children to be turned into babies. However, Gomah is surprised when Shenron immediately leaves instead of giving him the two other wishes, as Gomah was a first-time user of the Dragon Balls, losing his chance to acquire the Evil Third Eye. Gomah orders Neva to restore the Balls again, but Neva reminds him that he can't restore them twice in a row. Gomah decides to kidnap the now baby Dende so the Dragon Balls will be unusable on Earth, and travels back to the Demon Realm with Neva and Degesu.
In the Demon Realm Palace, Gomah puts Dende in the care of a babysitter and tells her to watch over Dende, as he will be important to Gomah in the future.
At some point, Gomah and Degesu used the Magic Monitor to watch Vegeta's fight against Innocent Buu, and noticed that Arinsu had taken some of Buu's residue after his body was blown to pieces by Vegeta's Final Explosion.
Later, Degesu informs Gomah that the children Z-Fighters have entered the Demon Realm and defeated Tamagami Number Three, gathering a Demon Realm Dragon Ball as a result. Furious, Gomah orders Degesu to do something before the situation escalates. Both Gomah and Degesu watch as Goku's group defeat several Gendarmerie soldiers and requests all of them fall back to the Third Demon World before all of them are defeated. Gomah continues to watch over Goku's group, as they meet up with Neva and Vegeta defeats Tamagami Number Two and obtains another Dragon Ball. Things go from bad to worse for Gomah as he hears a ruckus coming from outside his palace, and watches as Arinsu's new creation, Majin Duu, defeats Tamagami Number One and obtains the final Demon Realm Dragon Ball. After throwing a tantrum, Gomah angrily orders Degesu to disable Sir Warp to prevent Goku's group from entering the First Demon World.
Gomah gathers the Gendarmerie Force, a team of five of the best Gendarmerie soldiers to stand guard in case Goku's group invades the First Demon World. Afterwards, Gomah receives news that Goku's group has entered the First Demon World and orders a full-force attack by the Gendarmerie. Gomah and Degesu monitor the battle and notice that Hybis, a demon in Goku's group, has the Evil Third Eye in his possession as an accessory on his belt buckle and orders Degesu to retrieve it.
Gomah monitors the battle on his own, and also catches Degesu betraying him by attempting to kidnap Dende and leave on his own, only to be defeated. After this, a female demon arrives and gives Gomah the Evil Third Eye, much to his elation. Gomah struggles, but eventually removes the Third Eye from the belt buckle and orders the female demon to push it into his forehead, causing his body and strength to grow massively.
Gomah interrupts an altercation between Goku's group and Arinsu and her Majins in order to test his newfound strength. Gomah creates a giant arena in the sky and is contronted by Vegeta. Gomah is able to overpower Vegeta, and is then challenged by Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Glorio, Majin Kuu, Majin Duu, and Tamagami Number One. The battle turns into a showdown, with Gomah easily fending off all the fighters with his new strength. All out of options, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 3 and is able to hold his own alongside Majin Duu, but Gomah uses the Evil Third Eye to draw out more power and defeats both. Gomah prepares to finish Goku, but Neva uses his power to unlock a new transformation within Goku. Goku uses his new transformation to put Gomah on the ropes, but the Demon King uses the Third Eye to drain Goku's power and take on a gigantic state.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Glorio, who had been working under Arinsu as a mole to gather the Demon Realm Dragon Balls, summons the Demon Realm's Porunga, presumably to make her the Supreme Demon King. Gomah attacks Porunga, but is effortlessly swatted away. Glorio wishes for Goku's group to be turned into adults. Now back in their normal, adult ages, Vegeta decides to take on Gomah by himself. Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 is enough for him to utterly trounce Gomah, but Gomah uses the Third Eye to constantly recover, rendering Vegeta unable to make lasting damage, as well as drawing the fight out as Super Saiyan 3 can't be used for long. Goku steps in for Vegeta after he is convinced by Bulma to stop fighting. During Vegeta's fight, it's revealed by Arinsu that Gomah can be defeated by striking him in the back of the head three times, which would remove the Third Eye and render him powerless.
Goku starts by showcasing all his transformations to Gomah, who is unimpressed by Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3. Goku then reveals "one more bonus", transforming into Super Saiyan 4 again. Goku and Gomah's battle rages on, culminating in a beam clash that Goku comes out on top in, piercing Gomah's chest with a powerful Kamehameha. Gomah again uses the Third Eye to heal the damage, but notices Piccolo trying to knock the Third Eye out of him and stops him. Gomah unleashes a torrent of energy that causes everyone to scatter. However, Majin Kuu, who was holding the Book of Magic Items, uses the book to hit Gomah in the head three times, knocking the Third Eye out of his head, forcing Gomah back into his normal state and defeating him with the Third Eye destroyed by Glorio. After his defeat, Arinsu and Marba originally planned to seal Gomah away in a bottle for 100 years with Degesu, but reduced it to 99 due to him not killing Dende. Gomah is last seen playing video games with Degesu while imprisoned.
