Gomu is a minor antagonist of Dengeki Sentai Changeman, serving as the primary antagonist of the Episode 2. He is a BEM Space Beast at the service of Great Star League Gozma.
Gomu was voiced by Toku Nishio.
Biography[]
Past[]
Gomu was born on a distant planet in space with an unknown name. His homeworld was attacked at some point by Star King Bazeu and his Gozma League armies and so the world fell and in order to save his homeworld from destruction, Gomu swore his loyalty to the evil alien tyrant and promised to serve him and find new planets for Bazeu to conquer and consume, eventually becoming the loyal servant of Gozma league.
Dengeki Sentai Changeman[]
Gomu was summoned by the generals of Gozma league after the initial first failure in the battle with the Changeman and after the defeat and demise of Gabu. Gomu was an alien with the ability to fly and float in the air and with one eye held within it's jaw. He always surrounded himself with bubbles wherever he appeared. The creature could also fire from the eye a mucus-like liquid that melted people down into the building blocks for a home it builds for nourishing the Gozma forces. It also could fire an electrical attack while in the air. After being summoned by Star King Bazeu, Gomu was then sent by his masters to attack Tokyo, submit the Earth and humanity and destroy the Changeman.
Gomu attacked the city together with Adjutant Booba and started fulfilling the plan creted by Gozma, he started showering the people with his magic toxic ooze and reducing and transforming the civilians into the liquid. Later the Changeman arrived and fought the monster, while stil lacking the enough experience and not receiving enough experience to use their abilities yet. After an initial failure in the battle where team leader Hiryuu Tsurugi nearly got hurt and was eventually heavily wounded, the Changeman still lacked the sufficient experience and strategy in battle and were forced to retreat to their base, where they were scolded by their mentor Ibuki.
Later, while the monster continued his plan, the multi-colored heroes attacked the building where Gomu was attacking and transforming the citizens. The multi-colored heroes used their vehicles to draw Gomu out of the building and not to hurt the innocenct civilians, before destroying the monster with their Power Bazooka. After being revived and enlarged by Gyodai, Gomu fought the Changeman in their Change Robo and gained new ability, he could use it's eye like a missile to attack Change Robo. Destroyed permanently by Change Robo's Dengeki-Ken.
Personality[]
Despite his ruthless, sadistic and arrogant nature, Gomu genuinely loved and cared about his homeworld and volunteered to serve Bazeu and his empire to save his home planet, furtherly proving that he wasn't completely heartless.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Floating: Gomu can float in the air.
- Bubbles Creation: He also can create bubbles around himself, which he always does.
- Melting: Gomu's main ability. He can fire a special ooze that can reduce humans to the liquid substance.
- Electrical Attack: He also can fire electrical blasts at his enemies.
- Gaseous Ghost Creation: Gomu also can create a gaseous ghost to attack the intruders in his fortress.
Weaknesses[]
- Weak Defense: Despite his extreme and vast powers and abilities, Gomu had a major flaw in that it that it was not at all hidden and had no external defense allowing the Changemen to easily blow it to pieces leaving gomu exposed and vulnerable.
