First of all would be their leader lt. Gon Jem. Nationality and age, both unknown. Should be around a modern pilot's age. But that unit is a special kind, it's called Gissam. We've verified that he's gunned down seven units before. He has a nickname, the Giganos Polluter. It's been said that wherever he goes, no grass grows.
~ Douglas on Gon Jem.

Gon Jem is an antagonist in Metal Armor Dragonar. He is the leader of Gon Jem Shittenoh (a group within Giganos), who has recently dealt with countless deaths to the military as of late.

Appearance[]

Gon Jem is a massively obese man with pointy ears, scars, and a monocle.

Biography[]

In the past, he and Yama's father crossed swords in Kenjutsu where the latter won against him with Gon losing an eye and the father losing a hand. The father went to the mountains while Gon had a broken broken future in the army.

Gon Jem, alongside Gol and Ganan, first appear in the office of the Chinese Giganos base where they are shown pictures of the three Dragonar pilots. When the commander makes a joke about his eating habits, Gon Jem throws a bone at him asking who is helping him clean out the "sweat" and is not here to listen to his "nonsense". The commander points out that he cannot bomb Chong Qing without evidence. Gon explains that the satellite caught onto a massive base in Chong Qing and points out that the commander asked him to go after mere children. Gon also states that they are no mongers for rumors and are in no mood for the commander's reply.

The commander tells them they need to deal with the Dragonars immediately. The commander learns that the base is 60 degrees southwest of Chong Qing central. Gon tells him no matter what it takes within two months, he explained three times a day that he had been suspicious about the militarians in Chong Qing and must level the area. He doesn't know if Dragonars are being produced and punches out the commander over what he perceives a waste of two months.

Following Gol's chaos in the room, Gon asks if the commander has any other opinions and wants to do what he likes from this point on must to the commander's frustration. At a base, Gon tells Gol and Ganan that he is going to Chong Qing for three escorts and they must wait for him. He and two cronies confront Yama in Metal Armor battle where Gon subjects the Earth military pilots to a one-sided battle. The Dragonars, which answered an s.o.s., survive long enough to make Gon Jem and company retreat for technical reasons. He later makes a speech to his subordinates to about their enemies in Chong Qing.

He expresses his gratitude towards Ganan for wiping out an Earth camp as per orders. With his four major subordinates around, he can sleep easily and must not let the Dragonars into their territory. The Dragonars soon learn they need to undergo extreme training if they were to truly survive against him. Later he has a meal with his four subordinates where he talks about how the Dragonars will be their opponents as they are the Earth military's trump cards. When Gol was enraged at being called a monkey, he fired his machine gun into the air. It prompts his four comrades present to take cover. Gon Jem tells Gol to calm down and not fight with Min. Later on the phone during another meal, he learns from a spy he sent that the special team with the Dragonars left for their vicinity. He realized he and his crew were careless about the pilots.

He also realizes their enemy knows where their factory is. He declares that as long as he is around, their territory cannot be touched. When Linda and Rose get captured by his team, he learns the Dragonars are in mid-flight. When Gol manages to defeat them, Gon orders a retreat, setting the village on fire. Ganan splits off and heads for the Earth base, Gon permits this even though there is no reward. After identifying Linda as Meio's sister, Gon calls Bulli on the phone.

Bulli insists that there isn't a reward, but rather this is a ransom. Later, Gon has demanded a ransom of five million within three days. When Gol and Zin get into a fight regarding Linda, Gon orders them to knock it off. Later when Ganan splits off and heads for an Earth base, Gon permits this even though there is no reward for destroying it. When the Genbladiss trio arrive and requests a fuel, food, and gunpowder replenishment, he grants it at a price.

After Zelock and his underlings capture Tapp's Dragonar with him in it, he informs Gon Jem that the trio were on a mission to destroy the Dragonars without his interference. Later during the ground spider missile test, he receives a phone call where he hears the lie that Meio was the murderer of Marshall Guiltorre and he has a bounty of two hundred million on his head. He wonders where Meio went. He finds Min's idea that false info on Meio being close by will draw in the Dragonars great and clever and must re-evaluate her worth. He then tells Zin to release the false info in order to draw in the Dragonars. Later after reprimanding Gol, he heads to the secret factory where he witnesses the development of an even bigger Metal Armor.

He came to borrow a massive cannon, however, it is in a flawed state and needs to be tested. Regardless, Gon insists on using it on the Dragonars. He drives the cannon into battle and has Gol spy on the Dragonar pilots. Gon then fires a beam at the pilots' location. When this fails, Gon tries firing a second and third beam, which they also survive. After a fourth shot fails, Gon puts Gol in charge of the cannon while he heads off with his three other subordinates search for the Dragonars. However, Kaine manages to blow up the cannon, mortally wounding Gol. When Gon came over to his side, Gol asks if Gon is happy that he shot at the Dragonars once before dying from his injuries. A funeral pyre was enacted for Gol soon after.

After this, Gon swears vengeance for his death. Later Zin, Min, and Ganan draw the Dragonars into an empty factory as part of a trap. Shortly after, a vengeful Gon shows up to join the fight against the Dragonars. When the fight starts to look bad for the Dragonars, Kaine tells Light and Tapp to retreat prior to managing to escape himself. Later, Gon trails the pilots and their group thanks to a signal Zin picked up. This forces Kaine to intercept them. Gon trails him into a canyon, but Kaine shakes him off and destroys the gun of Gon's Metal Armor.

After Min and Zin destroy the two sources of false signals, Gon corners Kaine at a canyon. However, thanks to intell from Linda, Kaine manages to gain the upper hand by exploiting a weakness in Gon Jem's sword as it's made from a compound that can only take so much damage before it breaks. After Kaine breaks the sword, Gon Jem is forced to retreat. After he issues an order to locate the Dragonars and gets frustrated by their absence, Zin proposes forcing them out, Gon jem then tells his men to use the village nearby as bait to draw them out.

Once there, he demands the Dragonars to come or they will slaughter the village. Light and Tapp to them come with Kaine arriving to help soon after. Kaine manages to make the group retreat after managing to best Zin and Min in combat while managing to deal a fatal blow to Ganan. Later, Gon returns to the hidden factory to borrow the massive experimental Metal Armor, YMGA-14, in order to get revenge for the deaths of Gol and Ganan.

This, as the bald scientist in charge points out, however is a flawed machine and no pilot could handle it. Gon also demands a sword to be created for it. After undergoing a medical test for the machine, he and his remaining two subordinates are alerted by the arrival of the Dragonar pilots who are searching for the factory and heads into battle. With this, he manages to best the pilots in speed and cuts down his missiles when Light reprograms them to fly towards him. He was about to cut Kaine down when the latter manages to catch the sword and break it. At this point, Gon begins to suffer the negative mental effects of the machine, getting Zin killed when he thinks the latter is one of the Dragonar pilots.
