GoodFriend22 is the secondary antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Web". He is a pedophile who kidnapped Teddy Winnock, an underage boy that he was obsessed with from his child pornography site.
He was portrayed by Tim Gallin.
Biography[]
Nothing is known about GoodFriend22, not even his real name, except that he was a subscriber to Teddy's Treehouse, a child pornography website run by an underage boy named Teddy Winnock where subscribers paid $30 a month to watch videos where Teddy raped his younger brother Jake. Like much of the website's subscriber base, who deluded themselves into believing they were in love with him, GoodFriend22 was obsessed with Teddy; however, he was even more obsessed than his fellow subscribers and fantasized about having Teddy all to himself. At one point, he stole the identity of an elderly man named Claude Henderson to buy Teddy an apartment at Eagle Plaza where he could abuse Jake.
In "Web"[]
Teddy is arrested by the Special Victims Unit for molesting Jake and his website is soon discovered. When he is released into his mother's custody for the night, one of his subscribers, Ralph Zessner, hears he has been released and begins messaging his fellow subscribers to help get him out. At Zessner's behest, GoodFriend22 and another subscriber, Guy Lucas, formulate a plan to help Teddy escape and message him to escape out his bedroom window and go to the Eagle Plaza Apartments building where he records his videos, where he is to wait for GoodFriend22 to pick him up and take him to hide somewhere.
Unbeknownst to Lucas and Zessner, GoodFriend22 had come up with his own plan to enact his fantasies about having Teddy to himself. When he arrives at Eagle Plaza, he is greeted by Teddy who was recording before he violently grabs hold of Teddy and chloroforms him into unconsciousness before taking him back home, tying him to his bed and raping him, planning to hold Teddy there as his sex slave. In the meantime, the Special Victims Unit are on Teddy's trail, having found out his location after arresting Zessner, and quickly discover that Teddy has been kidnapped; he had set up his camera to record a final "very special episode", as he was expecting to have sex with GoodFriend22 when he arrived, and the camera recorded him being abducted.
SVU soon arrest Lucas, who had posted on the website about his involvement in the plan, and discover messages between him and GoodFriend22 which reveal that he is Lucas' accomplice; however, they cannot trace GoodFriend22 as he was using a burner phone. Lucas refuses to give up any information, believing he is protecting Teddy, but the SVU manage to unsettle him by showing him the video of the kidnapping before releasing him from custody. Although Lucas does not believe the video is real, he still messages GoodFriend22 once he is released to ask where Teddy is. GoodFriend22 messages back that Teddy is safe and will keep quiet, allowing Detective Olivia Benson, who is monitoring Lucas' account, to trace his location.
Detectives Elliot Stabler and Fin Tutuola go to GoodFriend22's house to find Teddy. Seeing the cops, GoodFriend22 immediately tries to run away but is easily caught by Stabler and the two of them brawl until Stabler manages to gain the upper hand and beats GoodFriend22 into submission, continuing to pummel him afterwards out of disgust for his crimes before noticing a surprised Fin watching. Regaining his wits, Stabler has GoodFriend22 arrested by Fin while he searches around the house. Stabler finds Teddy in the next room, bound and traumatized by his ordeal. The abduction cause Teddy to finally realize that his subscribers were merely exploiting him and he agrees to give up their customer data to the SVU.
