Barry, better known as the Goofy Manager, and also known by his alter-ego the Goobfather, is a supporting antagonist in Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
He is the manager of Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat, as well as the Goobfather, which is his secondary persona. Additionally, in The Patrick Star Show', he is shown to have various other jobs.
He is voiced by Gary Anthony Williams, who also voiced Uncle Ruckus in The Boondocks, Dupe Licitous in The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants: IN SPACE!!! and Riff Tamson in Star Wars: the Clone Wars, and portrayed Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
Appearance[]
In the main series, he is a slightly overweight light blue fish who usually wears a white shirt with red stripes, purple pants, a red bow tie, black shoes, and a Goofy Goober hat. As the Goobfather, he wears a black suit and hat.
In The Patrick Star Show, he instead wears a light yellow shirt with a golden name tag, a green tie, purple pants, and black shoes.
Personality[]
He is generally shown to be a Charismatic and friendly individual who is respectable about his businesses. Additionally, In The Patrick Star Show episode "FitzPatrick", it's shown that he genuinely considers Patrick to be his friend, and he is on good terms with the Star Family.
However, he also has a much meaner side to him. He can be considered wrathful, as he is known to kick people out of his buildings, fire his employees, and even physically attack others if they manage to anger him enough, either by breaking his rules, or by some other way. Additionally, in "The Goobfather", he was revealed to be a ruthless crime lord who was willingly to use intimidation and violence to get Mr. Krabs to stop selling ice cream. In The Patrick Star Show episode "Movie Stars", it's shown that he isn't above exploiting others for his own gain, as he hired SpongeBob and Patrick just because he didn't have to pay them.

SpongeBob SquarePants[]
In "The Goofy Newbie", he hires Patrick Star as a new employee at Goofy Goober's. Unfortunately Patrick does not do well at his job, however, the manager lets Patrick have another chance the next day but tells him that if it doesn't work out he will be fired.
After SpongeBob helps Patrick make ice cream for children the manager is pleased and let's Patrick have a break so that he can eat all the ice cream that he wants, however, after Patrick eats all the ice cream in the parlor and gets a brain freeze that freezes the earth for five billion years, the manager decides to finally fire him.
His next appearance is in "Goofy Scoopers". At the beginning of the episode, the manager brings a Triple Gooberberry Sunrise to Patrick who is excited for the Goofy Scoopers Show. Patrick ends up knocking the sundae into the manager, and then eats it off of him, much to his annoyance. After the performance is finished SpongeBob and Patrick are the only ones still in the restaurant, and the manager kicks them out for the night.
The manager lets SpongeBob and Patrick back in the restaurant the next day, however, he tells them that he fired the Goofy Scoopers and threw them in the trash so that he can replace them with DJ 2 ScOOps, and then after that he kicks SpongeBob and Patrick out after they start crying because of this.
During the dance montage at the end of the episode, the manager can be seen enjoying music, and he also gets surprised after SpongeBob and Patrick press against him.
In "The Goobfather", it's revealed that he has a secondary persona as the "Goobfather", a mafioso-style boss who prevents ice cream from being sold at any place that isn't Goofy Goober's, as shown when he has his goons shut down Mr. Krabs' Patty Whip Machine. When Mr. Krabs repairs his machine and continues selling Patty Whip without permission, the Goobfather goes to war with Mr. Krabs, and the two of them start trying to sabotage each other.
Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob team up to distract the Goobfather and melt his ice cream, much to his frustration. The Goobfather approaches Mr. Krabs with his restaurant, and the two of them battle each other, however, the battle is interrupted by the Ice Cream King, who makes them realize that ice cream is meant to be shared. The Ice Cream King proceeds to drop a bomb that covers the town with ice cream, and both the Goobfather and Mr. Krabs agree that their businesses are now futile.
The Patrick Star Show[]
In "Bummer Jobs", he is the manager of the Scuttle-N-Save, and hires SpongeBob and Patrick to work as bag boys, however, he fires the two because of Patrick's blindfolded antics, and launches them out of the store with cannons.
In "Gas Station Vacation", he is the manager of Gas Land who is mistaken to be it's mascot by Patrick. Throughout the episode he tries to catch Patrick and his family so that he can kick them out, however, they end up causing more destruction than he can keep up with.
In "Mid-Season Finale", he is a stage manager who is deciding which Patrick to bring onto the show, however, when the Patricks start fighting he fires all of them, and calls in a row of ballet-dancing Patricks instead.
In "FitzPatrick", after FitzPatrick sabotages the Goofy Scoopers' performance, the manager mistakenly believes that Patrick was responsible, and he has Big Jim kick him out. It also turns out that Patrick gets kicked out every week, and he and Patrick both enthusiastically wave at each other, with the manager telling Patrick "Say hi to your dad for me!".
In "Uncredible Journey", he is store clerk at Trader Barg'N's. When Pinkeye, Ouchie, and Tinkle enter the store, he kicks them out because pets aren't allowed in the store. The pets disguise themselves as a human to get into the store, and while the manager does look at them in confusion, he does let them check out their items, however, since Tinkle doesn't have any money, he distracts the manager by pointing somewhere, and then steals the food while he isn't looking. The manager tells the customers to stop the pets, but they manage to get away with the food.
In "Movie Stars", he is the manager of the Infiniplex. He first appears getting the audience hyped for the movie, only for him to reveal that they can't watch it because the staff has taken the day off. He explains that the movie will not be shown unless he can find "Two simpletons who want to work for free". After SpongeBob and Patrick volunteer to work, the manager has them tear tickets, check for people sneaking in food, sell concessions, and spool the movie reels.
Once the reels are set up for a short before the film, the manager gives SpongeBob and Patrick a box full of objects and explains to them that since he didn't pay for a 3D projector, he needs them to throw objects at the audience to sell the illusion of 3D. When they are in the middle of it, he yells at them to spool the reels for the movie. SpongeBob and Patrick try to watch the movie after getting it set up, however, the manager Bosses them around and doesn't let them watch it.
Mermaid Worm and Barnacle Barnacle, from inside the movie screen, call out the manager for exploiting SpongeBob and Patrick. The manager charges at them and gets stuck inside the movie, where he proceeds to get beaten up. Additionally, the manager sees the audience eating food that they brought from home, and when he gets angry at them, they respond by throwing food at him, and the movie ends with Mermaid Worm punching the manager in the face.

- In "The Goobfather", after his business is sabotaged by SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs, he shouts "I'll get you, Krabs! And your little sponge, too!", which is a reference to one of the Wicked Witch of the West's most iconic lines , where she says "I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too!".
