The Goolix, also known by its scientific name, the Binuclei siphonophorus is a minor antagonist and optional boss in the 2001 video game Pikmin. It's a large, blue amoeba with two nuclei, a smaller blue one and a larger yellow one and a water filled cytoplasm. It possesses the ability to manipulate its cytoplasm to drown opponents and its nuclei to attack them.
Biography[]
The Goolix is found at the Impact Site on odd-numbered days starting from day 9. If Captain Olimar returns on those days, he'll be confronted by it. To defeat it, he must have his Blue Pikmin attack its blue nucleus, as any other type will drown in its watery cytoplasm. If its nuclei are attacked, the Goolix will smack them together in an attempt to knock off any attacking Blue Pikmin. If Olimar throws Blue Pikmin at the Goolix's yellow nucleus, they'll bounce off but they'll deal more damage than attacking the blue nucleus. Once defeated, the Goolix leaves behind no corpse, but instead disintegrates, leaving behind four randomly colored 5 pellets.
