Biography[]
The Goombas have been sent by Bowser to intercept Mario, Luigi and Kibidango from both searching for the items and rescuing Peach from him. Catching up to them in their path to , the Goombas observe them while hiding in plain sight from being detected. In the following night, the Goombas orchestrated a plan to lure the trio to their doom by persuading Luigi to go to a valley of emotional-indused mushrooms to attract a giant Paratroopa to feed them to her hatchlings. Soon they persuaded Luigi into going there and eating the mushrooms consisting of crying, laughing and anger, enough to attract the Paratroopa to capture the trio to her nest. The first plan backfired as Mario, Luigi and Kibidango discover a rock filled with coins and opened it to release that soon turned out to be the Toads who handed them the mushroom.
Thinking for a second plan, the Goombas plot to lure the trio to their doom by having them go into a garden filled with Pirahna Plants that were created by Lakitu to feast on intruders serving as their prey. Once the trio arrive to a shoe that shows the directions, the Goombas come out of hiding and tricking them into taking the direction to the garden. The trio were soon tricked into taking the direction and enter the garden to find the Pirahna Plants before escaping the garden with the Pirahna Plants caught to each other and collapsing. Another result of the Goombas' trickery, Lakitu arrives to dispose of them with his giant Spinies as revenge for getting them injured, but Mario got caught on a vine before pulling off a piece of Lakitu's cloud to pull out some weather effects before using it to snow on the Spinies, exhausting them and having them vanished. Another Toad subject reveals himself and offers the trio the fire flower and they sent their course to find the power star.
Destined to pull a final result to stop them, the Goombas orchestrated a kidnapping to imprison them and summoned a Hammer Bro to be their prison guard. Once Mario, Luigi and Kibidango arrived, they used a trail of coins to lead them into the cell, trapping them. Mario begs the Goombas to release them, but the Goombas declined and revealed they have been working for Bowser much to his anger. Just as Mario attempts to punish them reaching through the bars, the Hammer Bro arrives with the Goombas letting him now that the Hammer Bro will be the guard before leaving to deliver the news to Bowser before secretly summoning both a Big Cheep Cheep and a Big Blooper as a backup in case of their escape.
Convinced that Mario, Luigi and Kibidango are likely defeated, the Goombas approach to Bowser stating their belief that they won't be able to interfere with the wedding much to his delight. As they watch the wedding, they soon witness that Mario, Luigi and Kibidango have survived and used an airship to approach to Bowser's castle before crashing on one of the Koopa Troopas. Bowser angerily questions the Goombas about this and the Goombas tried to explain frightened by his fury. Bowser slams his fist on the ground and orders them to seize them and the Goombas hurried to a chamber where they get aboard a control panel and grow out arms to pull the levers, activating the traps set up for Mario, Luigi and Kibidango.
Both Mario anr Kibidango avoided the traps and arrived to the chamber as Mario wonders which way should they go before encountering the Goombas, explaining that they will have to walk on the platforms before pulling the switch to activate the moving platforms with the attempt to have them fall into the lava. Their advantage would soon be put to a stop when Luigi accidentally released a flood to burn out the lava and eventually causing the castle to collapse. Given that the Goombas are nowhere to be seen after the castle's destruction, they are presumed to have been killed as a result.
