Goroth

Goroth is the main antagonist of the Enterprise episode "Bounty".

He was portrayed by Michael Garvey, who also played Corn Face in Men in Black II.

Biography[]

Goroth was a Klingon captain who sought the reward and prestige of capturing Captain Archer, who had escaped from Rura Penthe. To that end, he hired a Tellarite bounty hunter, Skalaar. When he heard nothing from him after two months, he hired another bounty hunter, Skalaar's rival Kago-Darr. He eventually received a transmission from Skalaar reporting that he had captured Archer and offering to bring him to the Klingon homeworld Kronos. Instead, Goroth gave Skalaar co-ordinates to rendezvous with his ship.

Boarding Skalaar's ship, Goroth mostly ignored the bounty hunter, quickly confirming Archer's identity and taking him into his custody. He gave Skalaar 6,000 darseks, despite having promised him 9,000, and sent him on his way, having Archer secured in his ship's brig.

However, Skalaar had done a deal with Archer, providing him with details of the layout of Goroth's ship and with a device that allowed him to get out of his cuffs and his cell. As Archer fought his way to the escape pod, Goroth exchanged fire with him and warned him there was no planet within fifty light years. Archer launched the escape pod anyway and Goroth elected to lock a tractor beam on it rather than opening fire, hoping to take Archer alive. At that moment, Enterprise arrived, having also been alerted by Skalaar, and fired on Goroth's ship, disabling the tractor beam and allowing them to retrieve the escape pod and flee the area.
