Goumang (勾芒) is a major antagonist in Red Candle Games' 2024 Metroidvania video game Nine Sols.
She is the first of the Sols that Yi has the opportunity to fight, being in charge of the Greenhouse zone.
Biography[]
At an early age, Goumang was abandoned by her family and found by Eigong, who took her in and raised her. From there, she would be trained and eventually become a member of the Tiandao Council, as one of the Sols.
500 years after Yi's apparent "death", he returns and enters the Greenhouse zone with the intention of taking Goumang's Sol Seal. This results in a fight between the two that eventually results in Goumang losing her legs. She accepts her defeat and prepares herself to be killed, only for Yi to cruelly inflict a worse fate onto her, forcing one of her mind control collars on her and frying her brain into a state of immobility. After Yi leaves, it is unknown what happens to Goumang.
In the true ending, Goumang and her minions were succumbed to Eigong's infection, which Yi sacrificed himself to restore orders.
