Government Guy, real name unknown is the main antagonist of the 1995 The Mask: The Animated Series episode, Future Mask.

Hailing from the 23rd Century in an unspecified year, Government Guy ruled over Edge City by using his legion of robots. The source of his power was The Mask of Loki, which was apparently radioactive, and used it to give clean energy to the city. To give the people what they needed, Government Guy took over and decided to stop out anything fun. Wanting more power, he sent a robot back in time to get the Mask from Stanley Ipkiss, only to invoke the wrath of The Mask.

In his base form, Government Guy is voiced by Frank Welker, while his Mask form is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.

Biography[]

Government Guy sent a robot called the Pulverizer back in time to get the Mask. The robot was defeated and torn the Mask's pants. Infuriated, The Mask used his powers to travel to the future to find the owner and get restitution for his clothing. Arriving in the dreary future Edge City, The Mask met Government Guy trying to figure out what was going on. Government Guy blamed an assortment of Rebels for The Mask's troubles, tricking the hero into capturing them. However, the Rebel Leader was able to convince The Mask of who the real villain was, showing him that the Mask of the future time period was now in the Coco Bongo's basement, powering the city. Learning that The Mask wasn't going to help him anymore, Goverment Guy sent a stronger Pulverizer and an army of robots after The Mask. During the fight, the Mask of the Future is disconnected from the grid and Government Guy landed next to it. To his surprise, The Mask wasn't radioactive, just green from being molded after being left in the basement for so long. Wearing it himself, Government Guy attacked The Mask. However, Government Guy was completely outmatched, having no creativity, he couldn't bring out the Mask's full potential. The Mask dealt the finishing blow by using a plunger and pulled the future mask off of Government Guy, throwing it into the river similarly to where it was found in the movie. As punishment, Government Guy had to fix The Mask's pants, and was subjected to The Mask's dance lessons.
