The Grafted Scions are enemies that appear in the 2022 video game Elden Ring. They are grotesque creatures that appear to be made entirely out of multiple body parts with the face of a silver-haired youth in the middle. One appears as the first boss the player encounters in the opening parts of the game.
Biography[]
Origins[]
The Grafted Scions appear to be creations of the feeble demigod Godrick the Grafted, who is infamous for engaging in the grotesque practice of grafting. With their grafted bodies, they are shown to walk in a spider-like way. They have the ability to jump to great heights and move at incredible speeds. Their weapons of choice in combat are ornamentally designed straightswords. Grafted Scions also carry shields to block incoming attacks and to perform bash and slam attacks.
Elden Ring[]
A Grafted Scion appears in the Chapel of Anticipation as the first boss the Tarnished encounters at the start of the game. If they failed to kill the Grafted Scion, a cutscene will play and the Tarnished will be instantly moved to the Stranded Graveyard. In addition, the Grafted Scion can be rencountered if the Tarnished returns to the Chapel of Anticipation via a sending gate, though this would cost them an imbued sword key. Killing it makes it drop the Ornamental Straight Sword and the Golden Beast Crest Shield.
Four other Grafted Scion are located in separate locations with one appearing in Stormveil Castle, Fringefolk Hero's Grave, Liurnia of the lakes, and Mt. Gelmir.

Trivia[]
- Though the Grafted Scions are incapable of speech, one Grafted Scion is shown to be able to talk normally in the Manga adaption Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree, despite being turned into a grotesque monster.
