Grandma, also known as Gramma, is the main antagonist of the SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Have You Seen This Snail?”. She is an elderly woman who overfeeds her pet snails so that she can eat them.
In her debut episode, she was voiced by Amy Poehler. In "Boating Buddies", she was voiced by Sirena Irwin. In "Choir Boys", she was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voiced Commander Peepers in Wander Over Yonder and Anti-Monitor in Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
Gary runs away from home due to SpongeBob’s neglect. While Gary wanders around in the streets, Grandma picks Gary up because she mistaking Gary as one of her pets, Miss Tuffsy. Grandma keeps feeding Gary and having a fun time with Gary.
Eventually, Gary found multiple papers from SpongeBob telling him that he miss him. This made Gary try to exit, but he come across closets with multiple empty shells that were once her pet snails.
Grandma soon found out about this and tries to overfeed Gary with cookies and eggs so she can eat him. Grandma chases Gary with a tray of cookies and Gary hides in an alley before meeting a tough snail earlier, then Gary pushes the tough snail in front of grandma, which makes grandma mistaken him as Miss Tuffsy. Finally, Gary escapes and reunites with SpongeBob.
Afterward, Grandma mostly likely devoured a tough snail before continuing on with her killing snail spree.
In "Boating Buddies", she makes an appearance in Downtown on the side of the road. After SpongeBob, Squidward, and Mrs. Puff avoid her, she shouts "Hooligans!".
In "Choir Boys", she is the piano player for the Bikini Bottom Men's Choir.
In "Shuffleboarding", she gets arrested by SpongeBob and Patrick for being too old.
In "Gramma's Secret Recipe", she appears in a knitting circle.
In "Super Evil Aquatic Villain Team Up is Go", she walks into Shady Shoals.
In "Mall Girl Pearl", she can be seen standing at the Bikini Bottom Mall's food court.

She was originally going to chase Gary with an axe, before getting replaced with a tray of cookies.
In one episode where she was playing a piano, she had the same voice as SpongeBob.
It's unknown if the snail Gary pushed in front of her was eaten or not.
In the episode "Shuffleboarding", she is actually arrested for being "too old".
In the original plot for "Have You Seen This Snail?", it would've been centered on her fattening up Gary to eat him, but this was later altered and toned down because it was deemed too horrifying for the series. It also would've made her darker and crueler.
She seems to take inspiration from The Witch from the fairy tale Hansel & Gretel because they both initially appear to be friendly to the protagonists, but in reality, they are actually fattening them up to eat them.
Her appearance may have been inspired by the Ice Cream Lady from the SpongeBob Movie.
