Biography[]
Season Nine[]
Granny Goodness first appears in the season nine finale titled "Salvation", as a mysterious woman at Metropolis General. While Tess Mercer is in the ICU she started going into shock; doctor's attempted to stabilize her body, but Tess' injuries were too severe and she flat lined within seconds. Once the doctors pronounced Tess dead Granny entered the room and closed the door behind her.
Season Ten[]
In "Lazarus", it is revealed that Granny brought Tess to Cadmus Labs where she was saved using DNA from the Lex Luthor clones.
In "Abandoned", Tess awakens from a nightmare of her being chased down a hallway by a mysterious figure. That night, Granny breaks into the Luthor Mansion and leaves behind a music box that belonged to Tess as a little girl while she was at St. Louise's Orphanage, for her to find knowing it would prompt Tess to seek her out, at the orphanage which she later did.
However, Tess brought Clark Kent with her when they went there to investigate. Prior to their arrival, Granny had just erased a little girl's memories of her recently deceased parents. Granny welcomed them and played along with their charade as reporters from the Daily Planet and had her girls sing "Amazing Grace" for them.
Granny took Tess inside and said she recognizes her as an abandoned soul. They spoke about the girls at the orphanage, and Granny admits that many of them spend their entire childhoods there. She explains that she's been training her girls to conquer society and shows Tess photos of her many wards that have moved out into the world into positions of power.
Tess saw the wardrobe from her dream and approaches it, while Granny said that she knew her girls will never abandon her. Granny then said that she left the music box in the hopes that it would bring Tess back, and reveals that one of the photos is of her.
Granny explains that she had Tess for the first five years of her life, and then her birth parents took their daughter back and put her into a good home. They were powerful, and would have closed down the orphanage if Granny had fought back, but she never stopped watching over Tess. Granny reveals that she was the one who saved her life after Zod attacked her and explains that Tess was always the strongest of her girls.
Granny tells Tess that she doesn't need to remember her true parents and that she will be her most valuable soldier in the coming war - whether she wants to be or not and locks Tess up in her old room. One of Granny's Female Furies, Harriet tortures a weakened Clark just before she arrives and orders her and the rest of the Furies to leave. She prepares to bury Clark's memories believing that his life will be much better without his painful past, but disappears after he manages to escape.
Later, Granny is revealed to be one of the Prophets of Darkseid as she meets with Desaad and Gordon Godfrey to prepare for their Dark Lord's imminent arrival.
In "Prophecy", Granny followed Oliver Queen who was searching for the Bow of Orion, a powerful weapon that was once used against Darkseid in the past. It was hidden behind traps that prevented the Prophets from getting to it. To that end, Granny allowed Oliver to retrieve the bow so she'd be able to destroy it. After reducing the weapon to ashes, she stated that she still had use for Oliver and removed his memory of searching for the bow with her powers.
Granny then reprogrammed him to be completely under Darkseid's control by using the already branded Omega symbol on his skull. Under her influence, Oliver dug up a piece of Gold Kryptonite for a dangerous purpose.
In the two-part series finale, Granny visited Tess at the Luthor mansion in a final attempt to convince her to join her by telling Tess that the Dark Lord's Apokolips was upon them and that only his followers would be saved, but Tess refused.
Granny sadly bid Tess a goodbye and reconvened with Desaad and Godfrey at their lair where they congratulated Oliver on successfully disabling Watchtower's satellites and tasked him with removing Clark's powers forever by placing a ring made from the Gold Kryptonite on his finger. However, Clark managed to remove Oliver's Omega symbol freeing him from Granny's control foiling her plan.
Later, Granny and the other prophets observed Apokolips destabilize the planet's surface causing tremors and mass panic. Oliver returned to the Prophet's lair to confront them. Granny shockingly noticed that Oliver no longer possessed the Omega symbol and tried to kill him but before she could, Oliver raised his bow, fired three arrows, with the prophets turning into smoke and vanishing.
