Grax is a minor antagonist in Generation One of The Transformers.

He was voiced by the late Milt Jamin, who also voiced Blast Off, along with Moneybags in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage.

Biography[]

Cartoon[]

Appearing in the three-part miniseries "The Rebirth", Grax was a member of the Hive, the ruling elite of Nebulos. When the Autobots allied with a rebel group and binary-bonded with them to become Headmasters, the Hive's leader Lord Zarak contacted the Decepticons who had come to Nebulos and offered them a similar arrangement. Grax was binary-bonded to Skullcruncher but was unsure of the arrangement, suspecting it was a bad investment. After succeeding in gaining the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber from the Autobots, the group returned to Cybertron to reveal the arrangement to Decepticon leader Galvatron. They were eventually forced to evacuate Cybertron aboard Scorponok.

Comics[]

Grax Vorath and Zarak comic

Grax first appeared in the Headmasters miniseries as a Nebulan industrialist who was one of Lord Zarak's cronies. He and Vorath helped Zarak stage an anti-Autobot protest to discredit Zarak's rival Galen, who had allowed the Autobots to stay on the planet after they disarmed and their leaders deactivate themselves. The group paid a visit to the Autobots and learned the location of Cybertron, allowing Grax and Vorath to send a message to Cybertron. The Decepticons arrived in answer and promptly took the group prisoner and attacked the Nebulan city. They were defeated when Galen and his friends bonded with the Autobot leaders as Headmasters, but Grax and the others remained their prisoners. Zarak convinced Decepticon leader Scorponok to bond with them as Headmasters. Their first outing saw them successfully capture the Autobot Headmasters. Grax continued to function with Skullcruncher as the Transformers all left Nebulos for Earth.

His only appearance in the main comic was in Issue #49, where Scorponok's Decepticons made contact with Ratbat's Earth Decepticons and Grax and the others revealed themselves as their Headmaster partners.
