The Greasers are one of the main antagonists in the 2006 video game Bully.
They are a notable clique of poor, working-class young thugs at Bullworth Academy, defined by their distinct 1950s-style throwback aesthetic, whose identity is a direct reflection of their socioeconomic background, as they typically come from less affluent homes, This is visually apparent in their attire, which consists of leather or denim jackets worn over simple, dull blue school sweaters, paired with slacks or jeans. The most defining aspect of their look, however, is their heavily greased hair, slicked back with pomade or oil, which gives the clique its name. They are the second highest clique in the hierarchy order, behind only the Jocks.
They serve as the arch-rivals of the Preppies clique.
Biography[]
Overview[]
The Greasers typically sport leather or denim jackets layered over drab blue school sweaters, paired with school slacks or jeans. Their hair is slicked back with pomade or oil, hence earning them the clique name. Overall, their appearance harks back to a 1950s-style aesthetic. During gym class, they opt for dark blue shirts paired with brown shorts. With surnames often suggesting Italian-American heritage, apart from Johnny and Norton, they frequent locations like the Auto Repair Shop on campus, the dilapidated New Coventry area, and the Oil Spill gas station.
Naturally opposed to the Preppies and Townies, the Greasers don't hesitate to confront Non-Clique Students or Nerds encroaching on their territory. Additionally, they're known for harassing townsfolk. Originating predominantly from New Coventry, a downtrodden district of Bullworth, most Greasers hail from working-class backgrounds, contributing to their ongoing rivalry with the more affluent Preppies, highlighting the class disparities within the school.
Story[]
The Greasers take a backseat until Chapter 3, when Johnny enlists Jimmy's help to spy on his girlfriend Lola, whom he suspects is cheating with Gord. Initially, Jimmy assists the Greasers in their conflicts against the Preppies. However, Derby's manipulation of Jimmy to act against the Greasers and Lola's persistent flirtations cause friction in Jimmy's relationship with the Greasers. Lola's actions escalate tensions between the Greasers and Preppies, culminating in a full-scale war, with Jimmy reluctantly siding against the Greasers. A climactic showdown between Jimmy and Johnny occurs in the Junkyard, resulting in Jimmy's victory and earning him the Greasers' trust.
Gary Smith exacerbates inter-clique tensions, turning the Greasers against Jimmy. Despite this, Jimmy manages to regain some trust by aiding Johnny's escape from Happy Volts Asylum. In another confrontation, Jimmy defeats Johnny once more, ultimately reconciling with the Greasers and restoring peace among the cliques.
