“ | Within the first week of excavation, we found that the Pyramids extended much deeper into the sand than we had previously thought. The more we dug, the more bricks we found had already been laid. At the time, we had convinced ourselves that the Pyramids had to be finite structures, and that it would be only a matter of time before we would reach their bottom. But by the third week, we had realized we had been wrong the whole time. The Pyramids extended down infinitely. ... They were towers. Infinite towers. All three of them. Towers which contain an enormous species of metaphysical flora. Who knew the Pyramids were merely tips of buildings? | „ |
~ Leonard W. Morlin, a former senior advisor, describing the process of unearthing the Pyramids. |
The True Force of Mass Destruction is a minor antagonist in Season 1 of the alternate history analog horror series THE MONUMENT MYTHOS, the first installment in the franchise of the same name.
It attempts to land on Earth in order for it to carry out it's extraterrestrial ideals, delivering the false children to Earth, and distracting onlookers for their plans.
Appearance[]
The True Force of Mass Destruction is the Great Sphinx of Giza, and is exactly similar in appearance to it, with a long catlike body and a human face wearing a nemes on its head and a carved stoned texture. What is different is that the bottom of the Sphinx extends down much further into a hull-like structure with a pointed edge, which looks much more metallic in coloring. This is what makes the Sphinx into an actual functioning ship.
Biography[]
Origins[]
The True Force of Mass Destruction was either created by the Ancient Egyptians as a means to escape the Special Trees, or it had always existed on Mars before human history, being entirely extraterrestrial.
Leaving Mars and Arriving on Earth[]
The TFMD is first seen on Mars as it slowly traverses the side of a crater. The video of the ship is assumed to be taken by a Mars rover not specified to watch said object, but the TFMD is also later captured in orbit by another camera as it is exiting the Martian atmosphere. This can lead one to assume that the U.S. has been watching the TFMD for several years and had sent missions to specifically observe and prepare for the arrival of this ship. The TFMD does eventually arrive, where it is attacked using thermonuclear bombs. This does not work, and the ship lands on Earth near the Giza Pyramids.
False Children and Pyramid Activation[]
When the TFMD lands, it releases what are called it's "false children" and cause a blinding flash of light once they organize and land on certain features of it's face. After this, they organize into the Starry Sphinx to distract onlookers, and more importantly, the Maize corporation, as it flees. This does not work though, as several hundred, or possibly thousands of pyramids rose up into impossibly high towers. It's important to note that both the video of the mothership fleeing and the Giza Pyramids rising into spires are both affected by radiation, meaning that the Pyramids and the TFMD both generate nuclear radiation. The pyramids actual purpose was to contain Special Trees and stop them from growing, and to do this, the Ancient Egyptians somehow created infinitely tall structures to contain said fauna. These infinite spires rise out of the ground and block the ship from escape, in any direction, up or otherwise.
Revelation[]
Prior to his suicide by self-immolation, Leonard W. Morlin revealed in a tape that he had been coerced by the ADA to read their scripts in order to give their claims veracity and spread misinformation among reliable sources at various points. One of these occasions was the documentary exposing the Special Trees within the Pyramids of Giza, meaning that its existence is a hoax, due to this information being corroborated for it's existence.
