Come on! Papa needs a new pair of SHOES!
~ Great Wide Wonder's last words.

The Great Wide Wonder is a minor antagonist in the anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, serving as the main antagonist of the third episode, "I'm Your Pusher." He is a delusional and psychotic superhero who is addicted to drugs and has killed two college girls by having sex with them in space.

He was voiced by Michael Cera in his second villainous role.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

According to Billy Butcher, the Great Wide Wonder took two college girls from Columbia University into space for sex, but unlike him, they couldn't breathe in space, and he ignored them trying to warn him. After their deaths, he just left them in orbit. He showed no remorse and was even aroused by it, choosing to hide it to save his career.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical[]

Great Wide Wonder first appears doing heroin enemas, getting sexual pleasure from it. However, Butcher terrorizes the dealer into selling Great Wide Wonder some spiked drugs made by Frenchie.

At the hero's hall of fame, Great Wide Wonder is nominated by the Homelander, Queen Maeve, and Jack from Jupiter, but Homelander notices that Great Wide Wonder is high on drugs and keeps interrupting him with excited shouts. However, the Homelander chooses not to say anything about it and presents a challenge for Great Wide Wonder: fly through a flaming giant ring held by Ironcast, a cannibalistic, metal-like superhero. Due to the spiked drugs, Great Wide Wonder starts speeding through the air in an excited drug rush, going way too fast and passing through Ironcast's stomach, injuring him and killing the latter. He then crashes into a wall, killing him and leaving his body tangled up in his organs as it sinks into the water. This horrifies the watching crowd and disgusts Hughie and the dealer, but Homelander, Maeve, and Jack could actually care less for the late hero and choose to cover it up by claiming that a villain named Galaxius caused it and go up to "confront him".

Trivia[]

  • Since the episode is only set in the comics version of The Boys, the Great Wide Wonder is technically a comic-only character.
  • Despite being the main antagonist of the episode, he never interacts with Billy Butcher once.
