~ Greed to Samus Aran |
Greed is a major antagonist in the manga Samus & Joey, serving as the main antagonist of the final chapter of the third volume and being the main antagonist of the sequel manga named Samus & Joey EX. He is a Space Pirate of the same species of Ridley, who wants to get his revenge on Samus for dishonoring his race, while also wanting to become the ruler of the universe by getting the power of the gods.
Appearence[]
Greed appears for the first time wearing a black cloak that hides all his body except parts of his face, looking like a normal size reptile humanoid with two bright eyes. But after revealing himself, he has a much more intimidating appearance, looking nearly identical to the space dragon Ridley, although Greed looks less skinny than the latter.
Personality[]
Greed, like his fellow dragon Ridley, has a sadistic yet intelligent personality, although not being as bloodthirsty as the former, wanting to get power and influence than just killing for the sake of it. Greed is also shown to prefer to order his minions to do vile stuff, than doing it himself, as he generally never does directly himself, usually ordering the rest of his space pirates to do the job while he waits for the results.
He is also can be less evil than Ridley because, he showed favor for him as his species, unlike Ridley who was indifferent to his species and he wants to revenge for his species.
Biography[]
Samus & Joey Vol. 3.[]
Greed appears for the first time when he and Body Snatcher get close to Zegan Doh to hire him to kill Samus, convincing him by taking advantage of his ego and desire to be seen as the number one bounty hunter. After the battle, they reappear, taking one part of Samus's suit that got cutted off in her battle against Zegan, planning to use it to finally capture Samus, with Greed having thoughs of how he is going to show Samus what is hell after he is done with her.
In the next episode, Greed and Body Snatcher use Joey as bait to get Samus to fall into a trap, which they used to extract all the abilities of her suit until nearly killing her, where they reveal that they work for the Dominion. After the death of Body Snatcher, Greed reveals his true form, something that gets Samus completely confused, as she confuses him with Ridley, giving Greed the opportunity to attack her and escape with the data of all the abilities he stole from her.
Samus & Joey Extreme[]
After defeating Samus and obtaining the data of all her abilities, Greed became a powerful space pirate leader, now having his own criminal group after recruiting a lot of other space pirates from around the galaxy, giving some of them the abilities that he stole from Samus and making them the bosses of certain sections of his new organization, calling them the Deadly Six Stars. Greed is now accompanied with a Dominion Agent, overseeing how powerful he is becoming, while also creating more ways to become even more powerful, as taking energy from a sun, trying to get the help from a species with inmense ability to create weapons and spaceships and creating soldiers for his organization.
After the death of all Deadly Six Stars, Greed reveals that he is not worried about it, as they were only bait for Samus to get her busy as he was looking for the planet where the Animus is, so after finding it, he sends the Bishop and the Knight to defeat and capture Samus. After their success, Greed laughs in glee, knowing that soon his wish would finally come true.
Greed, with Samus now captured, taunts her about how she is going to be used as a sacrifice so he can open the Judgement Gates, while also explaining that he chose her because of how she damaged his status as a Space Pirate because of her killing Ridley, as this caused Greed and the rest of his species to lost power in the Space Pirates rank. Samus then gets used in the Gates of Judgement where her vital energy is drained until she nearly dies, getting the gates to open, so Greed, with no care for his minions, enters the gates to finally get his wish to become a god.
After the defeat of the Bishop and Samus finally recovering all of her abilities, multiple black holes appear around the universe, sucking everything at their path which is revealed to be the work of Greed, who after getting his wish, created all of those black holes to kill everyone in the universe, and remake it as his image, attacking even his own allies. But after a while, his body stops having the power to resist that much power from the Animus, getting his body completely desintegrated by it, dying once and for all. Then, Samus got into the Gates of Judgement, using the power of the animus to create white holes, countering the black holes to finally end all the damage that Greed caused.
Trivia[]
