The Green Goblin of Green Goblin Mode is an antagonist from the video game adaptation of the 2002 Spider-Man film. He serves as the main antagonist of the Green Goblin Mode, a post-game storyline that lets you replay the game as Harry Osborn using the Goblin gear, investigating his father's business.
Overview[]
This man's identity is never revealed. He claims to have been hired by Norman Osborn to assassinate Spider-Man. After having failed, Norman tried to have him executed. Following Norman's death, this man has usurped the Goblin identity in an attempt to deal with Harry so he can eliminate the competition and take over Oscorp. Harry does not believe the imposter's claim about being hired to assassinate Spider-Man. It's never clarified if the man is lying or not, as he never appeared in the main game.
In his attempts to deal with Harry, the new Goblin sends out Oscorp Hunter Killer and Lightning Mech robots. He also sends Hunter Killers to try and capture Scorpion to complete the experiments Norman intended to perform on him. After dealing with the robots, Harry engages the imposter in aerial combat. Harry manages to defeat the Goblin, but is forced to let him go so he can deal with the seven gas bombs Goblin placed throughout the city. After disarming the bombs, Harry has to deal with the Goblin again. After investigating Oscorp for information on the Goblin, Harry finally fights and defeats him after he kidnaps and tries to kill Mary Jane. After this, he is presumably taken to jail by the authorities, though the mode ends without revealing his identity.
Trivia[]
- He uses a much deeper voice than Norman Osborn, though it is unknown who voices him.
- It's unknown if he hired Kraven the Hunter to target Harry like Norman did with Spider-Man, or if Kraven was just targeting Harry for the thrill of the hunt.
