Richie Countee and Carl Bladt are two of the members of the Greendale School Board and are major antagonists of the sitcom Community, specifically as the main antagonists of Season 5. While they administrate Greendale, they care very little for the school and are mostly interested in exploiting it for profit. Carl is portrayed by Jeremy Scott Johnson and Richie is portrayed by Brady Novak.
History[]
Season Three[]
When Dean Pelton was trying to shoot a new commercial for Greendale, they were initially concerned that it was costing too much money. However, when they saw the complete proect, they declared it "good enough" and decided to use it for the next sixteen years.
After the Study Group started a riot and Ben Chang set his security team upon the students, Richie and Carl came to discipline someone. Chang managed to bribe them into accepting his side of the story and had the Doppeldeaner blame the Study Group. Richie and Carl were unable to recognize that the "dean" was a fake and expelled the group.
Richie and Carl were fine with Chang's totalitarian rule of Greendale, as Chang kept bribing them. However, when they saw the Doppeldeaner, Chang was forced to flee. They were worried that they would be fired, but Dean Craig Pelton offered to cover it up for them.
Season Four[]
Richie and Carl came into Greendale while drunk in order to get the Dean to enroll a wealthy potential student. They advised him to lie about the school in order to trick the student into coming to Greendale. They then left to get more drinks.
Season Five[]
Richie and Carl had an insurance appraiser come to evaluate Greendale. When the appraiser told them the property was profitable, they tried to sell the school to Subway. The Save Greendale Committee tried to find lost treasure under the school to buy Greendale first. Richie and Carl tracked them to the teacher's lounge, where Richie broke down the door. They found Shirley and Buzz and tried to interrogate them. Richie believed he had the power to read minds and tried to read Buzz's mind and thought the Committee had escaped on a hang glider, until they were informed that the group was under a trap door. They followed the group and found them with Borchert's money. They stole the money and used a magnet to destroy the information on Borchert's computer. They were about to sell the school to Subway, but the Committee arrived in time to show Borchert's deed to the school and buy Greendale first. Richie then asks an Indigenous American to teach him magic.
Season Six[]
Richie and Carl cancelled Gay Pride on campus which caused a scandal. They asked Dean Pelton to join the board as long as he came out as openly gay. When the dean refused to fix the wi-fi in order to save a bird's nest, they said this was "too gay" and forced him to destroy the bird's nest.
