Greg Bruckner is a minor antagonist in Scream VI, the sixth installment of the Scream franchise.
Greg was a film student at Blackmore University and roommate of Jason Carvey, who together wanted to finish making Richie Kirsch's film that was halted when Samantha Carpenter killed him. He ends up killed by other Ghostface, becoming the first character to fall victim to the sixth Ghostface killing spree.
He was portrayed by Thom Newell.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Greg grew up in Atlanta with his best friend Jason and the two idolised horror movies. Greg and Jason idolised Ghostface and had a shrine dedicated to him hidden in a wardrobe in their dorm room. After the 2022 Woodsboro Murders, he and Jason wanted to finish making the movie that Richie Kirsch was making. The two enrolled at Blackmore University university to follow Samantha Carpenter, Tara Carpenter, Chad Meeks-Martin and Mindy Meeks-Martin, unaware that Wayne Bailey, the father of Richie, and his kids, Quinn and Ethan, were already planning their own killing spree to get revenge against Sam for killing Richie.
The New York Ghostface Murders[]
On the night of October 29th, 2023, Wayne Bailey entered the dorm room of Greg and Jason and killed Greg offscreen and then hacked apart his body. He then put the body in the refrigerator and left it there for Jason to find. Quinn came over to Greg and Jason's dorm room, gave Sam's ID to Wayne and took Greg's phone, to call Jason. After Jason came back to his apartment after killing his film professor, Laura Crane, Quinn called and impersonated Greg using the Ghostface voice. After Quinn led Jason to the refrigerator, where Greg's mutilated and decapitated body is, Wayne jumped out and murdered Jason.
After this, it attracts the attention of FBI Agent Kirby Reed, who was tracking Greg and Jason's online activity and came to New York after hearing about their murders.
Trivia[]
- Greg is the first Scream antagonist, who has no lines or screen time.
- He isn't a proper Ghostface, due to be mostly unrelated to the plot and to the actual Ghostfaces. He's also one of the few villains to be opening victims during a massacre. He is also never seen making a call or wearing the costume while neither attacking nor killing someone.
- When Jason is supposedly talking to Greg on the Phone, he mentiones that he has "blue balls" with killing, which suggests that they may have killed before the events of Scream VI
