Grief-Bringer is a major antagonist in Season 13: Master of the Mountain of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. It is a dragon that once terrorized the mines of Shintaro years ago, before the ninja, Lilly came to destroy it. After being revived by the Skull Sorcerer and the Skull of Hazza D'ur, it would be used as a tool in their plan to get the Geckles and the Munce to submit to them once again, or they would face potential destruction.
Biography[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Grief-Bringer's past, but is known that at some point, it entered the Shintaro mines and began terrorizing both the Geckles and the Munce for an unknown period of time. After putting the two tribes in a state of fear, the Earth Ninja, Lilly would arrive in the minds and face Grief-Bringer herself.
The ninja would battle the horrible dragon, and eventually, Lilly would activate her Spinjitzu Burst, putting an end to Grief-Bringer and saving the two tribes from further destruction. For seemingly decades to come, Grief-Bringer's skeletal remains would be hidden within the mines of the Skull Sorcerer, better known as King Vangelis of Shintaro.
Return and Aiding Vangelis[]
Upon learning that the Munce and Geckles were about to make a truce thanks to the ninja, a furious Vangelis and the Skull of Hazza D'ur would head to Grief-Bringer's bones and with their dark magic, would revive the monstrous beast into their pawn for destruction.
Soon, the undead dragon would once again roam Shintaro's caverns, before eventually finding the ninja with the Geckles and the Munce. Grief-Bringer would immediately attack them, breathing flames of green in their direction. The ninja and the two tribes would run away from the now-resurrected Grief-Bringer before they eventually found themselves cornered in the caves by the undead dragon, the Re-Awakened, and the two Skull Sorcerers themselves.
Under the threat using Grief-Bringer for death and devastation if they did not submit to them, the ninja would surrender themselves to Vangelis and the Re-Awakened to save the Munce and the Geckles. Little did they know however that this was just a trick, as Vangelis and his army would go ahead and enslave the Munce and Geckles once more.
Final Battle and Death[]
Upon returning to the mines of Shintaro, Vangelis and the Skull of Hazza D'ur would have Grief-Bringer locked up, intending on using it later to set an example to Munce and Geckles by killing the ninja, basically sending a warning to their slaves about what would happen if they ever choose to defy them again. Before Vangelis could release the undead dragon though, Cole would come in and fight him, distracting him from his slaves freeing themselves.
Eventually, Grief-Bringer would melt down the cage door and free itself, attacking Cole. Vangelis would order Grief-Bringer to destroy everyone else, breathing green flames in their direction. However, as the Grief-Bringer attacks, Wu riding Chompy would come in and fight the dangerous dragon.
As Cole activates his Spinjitzu Burst and destroys the Skull of Hazza D'ur, the Re-Awakened army falls apart, alongside Grief-Bringer, putting an end to the dragon's reign of terror once and for all.
Appearance[]
Grief-Bringer is a skeletal dragon, presumably having no flesh thanks to previously dying, with glowing green eyes and a green orb inside of its chest.

Trivia[]
- While not confirmed, there is some speculation that prior to its death, it was a Shintaran Ridgeback. However, this is mostly just speculation without proper evidence.
- Its main theme is a slower version of the Skull Sorcerer's theme, likely symbolizing that it is now just his pawn in his evil plans.
