Grimdo is the overarching antagonist of Ultraman Taiga and the main antagonist of Ultraman Taiga The Movie: New Generation Climax, as well as the overarching antagonist of Ultraman Orb: The Movie, Ultraman R/B and Ultraman R/B: The Movie. He is a primordial chaos god who corrupted and empowered Ultraman Tregear.

Biography

Grimdo is the embodiment of the primordial chaos which dominated the universe in the ancient past, before being sealed on Planet Borges to protect the universe's stability. Tregear sought out Grimdo after learning of the chaos god from an enscription within a chaos and broke Grimdo's seal, in order to absorb the chaos god into himself to transcrend being an Ultra.

Using Grimdo's power, Tregear enabled Murnau to conduct her plan and corrupted Reugosite.

After Tregear was defeated by Ultraman Taiga and his comrades, the seal on Grimdo broke and a portion of the being escaped. The New Generation Heroes were able to seal Grimdo at the cost of their powers, but the seal was not enough to hold Grimdo for long and it soon broke free to continue rampaging. After restoring the power of Ultramen Rosso and Blu, Taiga went to fight Grimdo alongside the two Ultras, but was beaten down by it. Ultraman Taro then arrived to rescue his son and deal with Grimdo. However, Grimdo allowed Taro to destroy him so he could possess the Ultra and make him attack his son. In control of Taro's body, Grimdo overpowered and defeated Taiga.

Despite this, after hearing some encouraging words from Hiroyuki, Taiga decided to stand up to Grimdo and save his father. After Hiroyuki restored the powers of Orb and X, Taiga joined the rest of the New Generation Heroes in confronting Grimdo and Tregear. While Tregear summoned Hellberus, Segmeger, Night Fang, Gigadelos and Gorothunder, the Tri-Squad Ultras went to confront Tregear, but the Grimdo-possessed Taro intervened and attacked them. Fuma and Titas held off Tregear to allow Taiga to confront Grimdo and save his father personally. As the two were fighting, Grimdo used his powers to strengthen the five kaiju Tregear had summoned, but the New Generation Heroes still managed to defeat them. Using the "Ultra Dynamite" technique, Taiga was able to purge Grimdo from his father's body and save Taro. Beaten yet again, Tregear decided to offer himself to Grimdo and allowed Grimdo to absorb him to reunite the two halves of the beast.

Now fully complete, Grimdo overpowered the New Generation Ultras with its tremendous might. However, the New Generation Ultras all merged into Ultraman Reiga and used their combined power to vanquish Grimdo. As Grimdo was destroyed, Tregear briefly resurfaced inside of him and called out Taro's name.
