Grimreaper Chameleon is a Shocker Kaijin with the characteristics of a chameleon and an antagonist in episodes 6 and 7 of the original 1971 Kamen Rider series.

He was voiced by Ritsuo Sawa in episodes 6 and 7, who also later voiced Ten-Faced Demon Gorgos in Kamen Rider Amazon, and by Bunya Nakamura in episode 13.

History[]

Grimreaper Chameleon was sent to look for the secret treasure of Adolf Hitler hidden in Japan at the command of the Great Leader of Shocker. He appeared appeared to Tatsuo Sunada, a former Japanese Navy officer who only knew the secret. He hurt his daughter, Yumi Sunada, who was in the hospital, and tried to steal a model with a secret map, but was stopped by Takeshi Hongo and withdrew.

After that, he secretly monitored his accompaniment and took the iron box deposited at the Institute of Biochemistry, Jonan University, and headed for the hideout of Lake Biwa. At this time, Hongo, who was disguised as a combatant, was brought to the hideout, but Grimreaper Chameleon dropped him into an inescapable pit. However, because the iron box was a fake prepared by Hongo, he was forced to release him at the command of the Great Leader, allowing the Rider to escape.

Later, he tracked down the real iron box and captured Tobei Tachibana and Ruriko Midorikawa. The contents had already been taken out, but they took the two hostages and called Hongo to the Expo site, stole the map, and dropped him from the tower.

Grimreaper Chameleon and Dr. Heinrich's forces followed the map to the casket, but when they dug it out by relying on, Kamen Rider 1 was inside instead of a treasure. In addition to rescuing Tachibana and Ruriko, Kamen Rider defeated the Dr. Heinrich and the accompanying Shocker Combatmen. Facing Kamen Rider himself, Grimreaper Chameleon took a Rider Kick before being defeated by a Rider Chop.

Grimreaper Chameleon was later reconstructed in the 13th episode and the movie "Kamen Rider vs. Shocker".
