Grimserver is the main antagonist of the 2019 animated mini-series Dragamonz.
He was voiced by Deven Mack, who also voices Chef Hatchet in the Total Drama franchise and Vangelis in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
Biography[]
Grimserver was originally a Wildthorn. He wasn't satisfied with how Dragamar's strength was growing through battling for fun, and instead wanted to battle for power. He plotted to take over the five sacred sanctuaries of Dragamar, and so he stole all the Dragamon eggs to create an army of Dragamonz which were loyal to him alone. Unfortunately for him, Syrrus and the other founders of Dragamar captured him and took him to the Five Corners so that Dracacia could punish him.
However, before she arrived, Grimserver broke free and grabbed the crystal that held the Five Corners together. When the founders tried to stop him, they unwittingly caused the crystal to get pulled out of the rock, resulting in Dragamar becoming divided and Grimserver being transformed into a skeletal Dragamon referred to as a Grimwrath.
Using the crystal, Grimserver started to create his kingdom of Grimwraths and managed to defeat the other tribes. But Syrrus managed to hit Grimserver with a Hydro Drill attack, allowing him to take the crystal and use it to seemingly kill Grimserver.
However, it turns out that Grimserver was merely weakened by the crystal's power. Many years later, he was unwittingly resurrected when Dax found the crystal, but all that remained of him at first was his head. Several times, Grimserver would send out his Grimwrath forces to try and take the crystal from Dax to prevent him from restoring Dragamar to its original state.
Grimserver encountered Dax's best friend, Boaragon, in a dream. He told him that he was a Wildthorn just like him, then made himself appear as a Wildthorn to intimidate him.
After Dax and Boaragon managed to get the other tribe leaders (Fyra, Gorgor and Azakai) on their side, Grimserver's companion, Wormskull captured Boaragon and brought him to Grimserver, allowing him to transform the young Wildthorn into a Grimwrath. Under Grimserver's command, Boaragon managed to take the crystal and bring it back to Grimserver, restoring him to his full power.
Grimserver then went on to resume his reign of terror across Dragamar. As Dax fought to break Boaragon free from Grimserver's control, Grimserver fought and captured the other tribe leaders. Luckily, Dax had managed to return Boaragon over to his side, allowing him to save the other tribe leaders, but Grimserver managed to hold onto the crystal and become even more powerful.
Unexpectedly, Wormskull suddenly turned on him due to all the abuse that Grimserver had put him through, only to get blasted by Grimserver's laser, reducing him to a pile of bones (albeit still alive). When Grimserver tried to blast Dax and his friends into oblivion, Dax managed to protect them by becoming a Legendary Mystic. The young Stormclaw then offered Grimserver a chance to be a part of Dragamar if he handed the crystal over to them. Grimserver refused, claiming that they know nothing about power.
Grimserver tried once more to use the crystal to destroy Dax and company, but they combined their powers to create their own laser which overwhelmed Grimserver's attack and disintegrated him, ending the evil Grimwrath once and for all.
