Gripe is Kalmaar's merservant and the secondary antagonist in Season 14: Seabound of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. He has always served Kalmaar faithfully, and he even helped his master raise Wojira and destroy the surface world.
Biography
Ever since Gripe has served Kalmaar, he has obeyed every command of his lord. And when Kalmaar tried to create a Storm Amulet to awaken Wojira and destroy the surface world, he too has been involved in his master’s plan. He and Squid even kept their plans a secret from Kalmaar's father, the King of Merlopia, Trimaar. When Squid met Nya and Maya, he took them captive and tried to force them to tell the location of the Storm Amulet, but then they fled, and he told Glutinous to send the Ripper Sharks after them. But they escaped, and when they were commanded to Merlopia with their friends, he and Kalmaar came to the throne room, where Kalmaar killed his father and took power, in which case Kalmaar carried out his plan to find the Storm Amulet, raise Wojira with it, and destroy the surface world. And he and all the Merlopians followed Kalmaar's commandments in it, except for Trimaar's adoptive son, Benthomaar, who learned from his father the truth about Kalmaar. When the Storm Amulet was found, and he and the other Merlopians, under Kalmaar's leadership, tried to destroy the Ninjas, they failed, and Kalmaar turned their Fake Amulet trick against them. And when Wojira was awakened, he and the other Merlopians launched an attack on Ninjago City with Kalmaar, and tried to destroy the entire surface world and the entire human race as well. During the attack, Ninjas and Benthomaar tried to repel the attack of him, Kalmaar, other Merlopians, and Wojira. When Benthomaar tried to make the other Merlopians believe that Kalmaar himself betrayed them and dethroned King Trimaar, he tried to make them believe that Benthomaar had lied to them, believing that the Ninjas were supposed to rule him. The Ninjas and Benthomaar fought him, the other Merlopians, and Wojira fiercely, and when Benthomaar destroyed Kalmaar's wand, and Wojira was released from his control, Wojira ate Kalmaar, after which he and the other Merlopians had to flee the scene.
