Grub Monger is the beetle larva-themed Monger of the Machine Empire Black Magma serving Führer Hell Saturn and a minor antagonist in Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan, serving as the main antagonist of the 1st episode.
He is voiced by the late Teiji Omiya who previously voiced Steel Mask, Camera Mask and Faucet Mask in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, Devil Cane in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, most of the Egos Monsters in Battle Fever J, Jukular, Banchirolar, Rosokalar, Mimilar, Bikamalar and Kendamalar in Denshi Sentai Denshiman and later voiced Tori Monger, Majin Monger, Kikai Monger and the Omnipotent God also in Sun Vulcan, Porcupine Mozoo in Dai Sentai Google V and Diving Beetle Evo in Kagaku Sentai Dynaman.
Biography[]
After three members of the Guardians of World Peace's security force are recruited to become Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan and fight Black Magma, which they learn of through their implanted Dark Q spy robot, Hell Saturn has the Zero Girls create the Grub Monger. After his creation, the Grub Monger is sent with a platoon of Machinemen to kill the Guardians of World Peace, destroy the building, kill Sun Vulcan and conquer the Earth. Although they manage to kill some security forces, they are confronted by Sun Vulcan who defeat the Machinemen and take on the Grub Monger who initially has the upper-hand until they knock him away with the Triple Attack and defeat him with the Vulcan Ball. However, Grub Monger grows giant using his Expansion Program and rampages so they deploy Jaguar Vulcan to launch missiles at Grub Monster. After launching the Cosmo and Bull Vulcan to attack the Monger, they combine the robots to form Sun Vulcan Robo. After a brief fight, Sun Vulcan Robo kills the Grub Monger with the Aurora Plasma Return.
Later, after the death of Toad Monger, Hell Satan is haunted by the ghosts of past Mongers so he reviews footage of the first four Mongers' battles; starting with Grub Monger. Realising how much it upsets him, Queen Hedrian suggests sending an invincible Monger to kill Sun Vulcan which results in the creation of Wrestler Monger only for him to die as well.
Turboranger[]
During the Turborangers' first battle against the Hundred Boma Tribes, they are joined by all ten previous Super Sentai teams which includes Sun Vulcan. As the Sentai challenge the Boma's view that they are all useless, the narrator recalls the Denzimen's many battles which includes their battle against the Grub Monger.
