Grudda is a minor antagonist in the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West. He is a former member of the Tenakth's Desert Clan, who would later defect with Regalla, one of Hekarro's former Marshals, after growing disillusioned over Hekarro's peace treaty with the Carja, their former enemies. He later served as Regalla's champion.

Grudda was one of the participants of the ambush of the Embassy of Barren Light that killed several Tenakth and Carja envoys, inclduing Fashav and Nozar. He would soon challenge Aloy and Varl, before he was promptly defeated by the former, killing him.

He was voiced by Matthew Waterson.

Background

Member of the Desert Tenakth

Grudda, who hailed from the Arrowhand village, one of the Desert Tenakth settlements, was formerly a member of the Desert Clan.

As a Marshal, Fashav's first task was to mediate a conflict between Grudda and Drakka regarding upcoming hunts. Grudda believed that larger machines should be hunted in order to get more divisions, while Drakka maintained that smaller machines should be hunted in order to reduce casualties. Fashav voted in favor of Drakka, angering Grudda.

Eventually he'd come into contact with Regalla, as both of them were kindered spirts, Grudda would be persuaded to join the rebels, Grudda joined the Tenakth uprising under Regalla, and would eventually serve as her own champion. There are several others with similar weapons, armor and titles, however. Grudda would serve as her personal one.

Ambush of the Embassy

When Regalla stormed the Embassy between the Carja and Tenakth Marshals, Grudda was by her side and stayed there until her brethren attacked. Grudda was given permission by Regalla to take Aloy and Varl on when they were the sole survivors.

Varl was easily hurt by Grudda as he battled the two outsiders while gliding down on his Shieldwing. Aloy, on the other hand, proved to be more resilient and hurt his Shieldwing, making him susceptible to being killed by a single strike. After the combat, Aloy would later recover his Shieldwing.

Abilities

• Combat Expertise - Like most Tenakth, Grudda is a warrior with considerable fighting skills, who was able to stave off Aloy and Varl's attacks.
• Shieldwing - Prior to his death, Grudda was equipped with a Shieldwing, where he uses it to shield himself from melee attacks or as a method of flight.
