| ~ Grunderbite's updated in-game description in Hungry Dragon. |
Grunderbite, also known as the Medieval Dragon, is a minor antagonist in the Rayman franchise, debuting as one of the secondary antagonists and first boss of Rayman Legends and a guest character in Hungry Dragon.
He was one of the many Nightmares who was born after the Magician's survival and joins his campaign to invade and takeover the Glade of Dreams. He would later be a member of the Hungry Dragons to compete with his brethren waging destruction in a medieval world to earn high scores.
Appearance[]
His appearance bears a resemblance to the other Forest Dragons in the ranks of the Nightmares as he is a massive dragon with wings, claws, sharp teeth and tiny limbs With notable differences to the others, is that he possesses fins on both his back, sides of his head and chin. His skin is also colored golden and his wings are bigger and colored orange as well as seen battered. Throughout each phase of his fight against Rayman and Co., he will take much damage each from each phase as a result of getting hit from Flying Punches.
Biography[]
Past[]
After the Magician had survived the destruction of the Moody Clouds, Grunderbite was one of the newest generation of Nightmares who was born as a Forest Dragon and rose up to become their leader in their servitude to the Magician. For the next one-hundred years, he helped the Magician spread the Nightmares to one of the areas of the Glade of Dreams which would be known as Teensies In Trouble by leading an invasion and having them also kidnapping Teensies to be put in cages as prisoners.
Rayman Legends[]
An entire century after the events of Rayman Origins, the area was conquered in the process and Grunderbite became its ruler to keep it under the control of the Dark Teensie who had recently multiplied as a leading force of the Nightmares. Despite now becoming the ruler, a portion of his army would soon compete against each other, he most likely did not careless as his main focus is to keep the land under Nightmare control from the likes of Rayman and Co.
He later face them at the castle where he roars and prepares his battle to attempt to kill them. Each time he takes hit from their Flying Punches, he will get stunned and destroy their platform, forcing the heroes to get to the next platform to avoid his attacks until the method to repeat being hit by the Flying Punches starts. This repeats a few more times until Grunderbite becomes extremely weakened that she started to lose control of his flight. In his following defeat, Grunder mistakenly destroys two of the castle towers and collapsed in a battlefield between the two Livingstone armies, thus killing them all including himself and leaving the first Dark Teensy to be punched and exiled on a nearby moon to be tortured by the creatures inhabiting it.
His rule came to an end with Rayman going through a musical event "Castle Rock" with his army singing while destroying each other and the castle.
