Guaripolo is a major character of the 31 Minutos franchise, serving as a major character of the TV show, a supporting character on its movie 31 Minutos, La Película, the titular main protagonist of the spin-off Las Muelas de Guaripolo and the show Radio Guaripolo, the tritagonist of the web show Segurito, and will return in some capacity in the 2025 streaming film 31 Minutos: Calurosa Navidad (31 Minutes: Hot Christmas).
He is the self-proclaimed 31 Minutos' children's favorite character, when he actually does not work on the program. During the show he appears at the studio, sometimes as different works, or helping the program staff on a problem or wanting to trick them.
He is voiced by Patricio Diaz.
History[]
Early Life[]
From a very young age, Guaripolo developed a taste for pranks and annoying others. When he was born, the doctor picked him up and Guaripolo urinated on his face after he called him ugly. Later in the nursery, Guaripolo dedicated himself to exchanging the other babies' pacifiers for objects such as toothpicks or keys, keeping the pacifiers for himself.
Years later, Guaripolo would have fun by scaring other kids with his pranks, like using his grandmother's teeth and eyes. And in his mother's words, he was a free soul, who took off his clothes and escaped whenever he could.
31 Minutos[]
In the seventh episode of Season 2, Bodoque Deprimido (Depressed Bodoque), Bodoque goes through depression and ends up resigning from the program, but is replaced by Guaripolo as an environmental journalist, who makes a totally reckless and irresponsible green note, burning tires, speaking with misspellings and torturing pandas on screen.
In the ninth episode of Season 4, Oestelandia (Westland), Guaripolo, by the alias of Profesor Guaripolus, acts as a scammer, selling a fake weight loss tonic, having already deceived three states and is wanted dead or alive. He appears in the 31 Minutos studio promoting his "miraculous" tonic, but Señor Vaquero does not believe him, so he brings "Sopapiglobus" to test the efficiency of his tonic, but again they do not believe him and he tries to escape by flying with Sopapiglobo, but he is shot and falls, so Guaripolo and Sopapiglobo run away.
31 Minutos: The Movie[]
Guaripolo appears alongside Sopapiglobo as police officers, and mistakenly arrests Tulio and his friends for the murder of Lord Warmington Banquete, but Banquete was not dead and acutally he was imprisoned for drunk. Then Bodoque explains that they need to save Juanín, so Guaripolo decides to take them to the port, where he recognizes Juanín's wooden box, and when Patana asks him to stop it, he leaves them and goes with Guaripolo and two women.
Later, when the Huachimingos saved Bodoque to kill him, they call the police, so Guaripolo and Sopapiglobo appear. Guaripolo says he is been looking for Tío Pelado for the kidnapping of a Huachimingo, and that finally he got him. But Bodoque says he is not Tío Pelado, and takes out a puzzle of criminals, showing the photo of Tío Pelado. Then Guaripolo realizes his mistake and leaves with Sopapiglobo on helicopter.
Radio Guaripolo[]
Guaripolo runs Radio Guaripolo, where where he presents the program "Guaripolo's Midnight Pitanzas", where in the wee hours of the morning he makes telephone pranks to a few, for the delight of a few others. He tricks Tulio, Policarpo, Patana and Bodoque with his pranks, but when he calls Huachimingo, he discovers that it is a joke and invokes a curse on Guaripolo, so a giant lizard appears at Guaripolo's studio and Calcetín con Rombos Man saves him, then, Guaripolo decides to redeem his pranks and apologizes with his victims with a lullaby to help them sleep.
