Gueldre Poizot is a supporting antagonist in Black Clover. He is the former captain of Clover Kingdom's Purple Orca squad of the Magic Knights, having his position revoked after his connection with the Eye of the Midnight Sun was revealed. He served as the main antagonist of the first quarter of the Seabed Temple arc, and a minor antagonist in the Elf Reincarnation arc.
He is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita in Japanese and Gabe Kunda in English.
Biography[]
Past[]
Gueldre was a Clover Kingdom aristocrat with skilled business talents. After becoming a Magic Knight, Gueldre uses his Permeation Magic to make deals and to gather information and power, working his way up to captain of the Purple Orca squad. During this time, he sets up Revchi Salik to fail a mission and force him out of the squad.

Reincarnation Arc[]
A year afterwards, Gueldre escaped the prison after the Elf Tribe lauched their attack against humanity. He had encountered Revchi, who also escaped amist the chaos. The two briefly quarreled against each other, but in progress they quickly realized that they both shared resentment towards Asta, and thus they called in peace.
Later, the duo worked together in attacking the elves and arrived in the Shadow Palace, before they ransacked its treasure. Nevertheless, they were trapped after Zagred summoned horrid creatures from his realm to invade the Clover Kingdom. Whilst Gueldre's Premation Magic saved them both, Revchi complained about following Guldere into such situation.
After Zagred's defeat, Yami Sukehiro discovered both Revchi and Guldere, pulling them out of the collapsing Shadow Palace. After everyone escaping the Shadow Palace, Guldre later watched as Asta exorcised all remaining elves and sent them to the afterlife.
Arc 10[]
A few days later, Gueldre was amongst the captives that were helping in rebuilding the ruined capital. He and Revchi read news about Asta's trial on the headline. They were pleased about it and laughed at Asta's current situation, but was then stopped by Jack the Ripper, who warned all of the prisoners to be quiet and get back to work. Enraged, Revchi, Gueldre and Rades Spirito threatened Jack, but were immediately punished by him.
Days after Asta's trial, Gueldre was taken to the Wizard King's conference room during the Captain's meeting about the Spade Kingdom's threat. Julius revealed that Gueldre and Revchi had plundered the Shadow Palace and declared his decision to pardon him, under the circumstances that Gueldre must give in the treasure from the Shadow Palace and use his business talents to rebuild the kingdom. Feared for his life, Gueldre immediately complied.
Power & Abilities[]
Gueldre is skilled in the Permeation Magic, which allows himself to become invisible, erase his magical presence, and become intangible to all other types of magic.
