Guitardo is the Cicada-themed monster of the Evil Space Aliens serving Lord Zedd, serving as the titular main antagonist of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode "The Song of Guitardo" and a cameo antagonist in the two-part Power Rangers In Space series finale "Countdown to Destruction."
He is voiced by Tony Oliver who previously voiced the Rockstar, Fang, Goatan's goat head and later voiced the Wizard of Deception and Needlenose all also in MMPR, Frightwing in Power Rangers In Space, Klawtox in Power Rangers Time Force and Signal Org in Power Rangers Time Force.
Biography[]
After seeing Kimberly play her guitar, Lord Zedd wants to create a guitar monster so he created Guitardo by using his magic to combine her guitar with a cicada. Although he sends Guitardo to brainwash the Rangers with his music, and he succeeds in doing this to four and defeats Tommy, Kimberly gains the upper-hand and Guitardo is killed by the Dragon Dagger being fired into him by the Power Bow. Due to being completely destroyed, Lord Zedd is unable to enlarge him.
In Space[]
Four years later, Guitardo is recreated and joins Divatox's army which attacks Gratha and defeats the Aquitarian Rangers. The invasion of the universe is successful but the United Alliance of Evil is turned to dust by Zordon's Energy Wave although the Guitardo somehow survives.
Personality[]
Guitardo was a sadistic guitar player who acted like a professional musician and spoke in lingo although he was very loyal to Lord Zedd. However, he clearly has redeemable traits and is no longer evil as he was spared by Zordon's Energy Wave which only happened to those with good sides.
