Gums is a major antagonist in the One-Punch Man manga series. It is a Dragon level executive of the Monster Association without any eyes but still has a way of knowing its surroundings and being driven to eat whatever it can find.
Appearance[]
Gums is a large and gluttonous monster that has nothing on its face but a large mouth often showing its teeth. It has no ears but still managed to appear at a meeting being called up by Gyoro Gyoro. Gums will increase the muscles of its mouth when wanting to have a stronger bite force exposing its veins and having a muscular appearance.
Personality[]
Gums is driven to hunt for food. It also seems to communicate well despite not having any ears or eyes to help with its surroundings making it somewhat intelligent. It also goes into a fit of rage when its meals are interrupted, like when it was about to swallow Tanktop Master and Pig God swooped in tackling the monster spitting the hero out. After getting hit in the face by Fuhrer Ugly, Gums gotten angrier and even tried to eat him in revenge, eventually meeting its demise.
Biography[]
Gums first appears in the manga eating another monster to be prepared for the battle against the Hero Association. It then appears at an executive meeting by Gyoro Gyoro. The monster is next seen sneaking up on Pig God and swallows him but spat him back up as he was violently shaking in its stomach. After this, the two would partake in a wrestling match where Gums got the upper hand and nearly swallows a weakened Pig God. While battling with Psykos, the human form of Gyoro Gyoro, Tatsumaki put all the fighters in psychic bubbles including Pig God but Gums managed to break the bubble by chewing down on it but afterwards, Pig God was somehow brought up to the surface of Z-City. Soon enough, the other executives including Gums managed to reach the surface as well and continued their spree. It attacked Tanktop Master getting Pig God to swoop in and shoulder tackle Gums spitting Tanktop Master out. Gums was angered that it didn't eat Tanktop Master with fellow monster executive Fuhrer Ugly pointing out it didn't like that happening at all. While the two heroes watched Ugly rip the arm off of one of Narinki’s mercenaries, Gums swooped in increasing its strength and physical appearance to keep hold on Tanktop Master but that stopped after Pig God managed to shoulder tackle the monster in its stomach spitting out Tanktop Master. After Ugly beaten up Tanktop Master and mangled him, he gave the horribly beaten hero for Gums to eat. Before it could swallow him, Silver Fang kicked straight through Gums and rescued Tanktop Master; Genos tagged in and burnt up the monster's insides. Soon, the monster would have Genos in its grasp but would spit him out after Ugly hit it in the face attempting to punch Fang. Gums was even angrier and targeted Ugly. It swallowed him but the cadre lived and relentlessly attempted to escape by violently shaking. Eventually, Ugly escaped the monster by ripping it in two from the inside, killing Gums immediately.
