Chet, also known as the Gunnison Predalien, is a minor antagonist in the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator and the main antagonist of its 2007 sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.

It is a hybrid of a Yautja and a Xenomorph that emerged from Scar and went on to attack Gunnison, Colorado.

Biography[]

Alien vs. Predator[]

In Alien vs Predator, three Yautja landed on Earth to hunt Xenomorphs. Two of them, Celtic and Chopper, were killed by a Xenomorph known as Grid, and Scar was implanted with a Xenomorph embryo by a Facehugger. When Scar was killed by the Antarctic Queen before she was dragged into the ocean and the other Yautja took his corpse into the ship, the Predalien Chestburster burst from his chest.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem[]

In the sequel Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, the same Predalien has matured into an adult. It sneaks into a scout ship and kills the Yautja there, causing the ship to crash on Earth. One Yautja, before dying, sent a picture of the Predalien to another Yautja, called Wolf, who went to Earth to kill the Predalien. The Predalien then attacks some homeless people in the sewers, implanting some Xenomorph embryos in a pregnant mother. Wolf then comes and starts killing the Xenomorphs in the sewers. The Predalien attacks him and allows the other Xenomorphs to escape.

The Predalien enters a kitchen and murders the cook. A second pregnant woman named Carrie is brought to the Predalien and implanted with embryos. Wolf follows the Xenomorphs and a battle ensues. In the process, the Predator's plasma cannon wildly fires a shot into the sewers and the Xenomorphs gain access to the town. The Predalien invades a hospital and implants embryos into pregnant women. It is injured and orders three Xenomorphs to fight Wolf. During the battle Ricky's love interest Jesse was killed by Wolf unintentionally, so he shot Wolf several times and he was knocked down the elevator shaft by a Xenomorph. The Predalien stabs Ricky and flees when Dallas, Ricky's brother, shoots it. When Wolf kills a Xenomorph Warrior, an enraged Predalien comes and fights him. Then an F-22 Raptor drops a nuclear bomb, killing the Predalien, Wolf, the Xenomorphs, and the remaining townspeople.

Trivia[]

  • The Predalien's gender is something that is debated. The movie commentary refers to it as a "he" and "him" while other sources refer to it as a "her" and a "young queen".
    • However, the Predalien is not the only one whose gender is debated. The Newborn Alien from Alien Resurrection is revealed to be 'male' in its movie novelization, but 'genderless' in its appearance in the film.
  • The Predalien takes special interests in female victims, particularly pregnant ones. It has the ability to reproduce without requiring Facehuggers by regurgitating embryos into the women.
    • It has been explained by the directors that such method being the result of its nature as a young Queen, specifically Antarctic Queen's successor. Had it survived much longer, the Predalien would molt into a proper Queen who laid eggs in traditional manner and shed away her previous reproduction method and Yautja traits from Scar's genes.
  • The Predalien is often mistakenly referred to as a hybrid, when it is simply the result of a facehugger infesting a Predator and isn't anymore of a hybrid than the Dog Alien or human-spawned Xenomorph.
    • Additionally, Cloned Xenomorphs classified as human hybrid Xenomorphs, due to DNA splicing between Ripley and Queen embryo. Despite the species still similar life cycle with their pure-breed xenomorphs cousins counterpart.
