Gurnisson is a major protagonist from Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon’s Blade, Festival of Life campaign and a minor antagonist from Heroes Chronicles: The Sword of Frost. He was a goblin warlord in Krewlod, one of Kilgor's important lieutenants and minions.
Biography[]
Almost nothing is known about Gurnisson's past. It is certain that he showed talent in ballistics and in the control of ballistae and this brought him the beginning of his career, because these traits made him one of Krewlod's barbarian warriors. However, he got a more important role when a power-hungry and cruel barbarian, Kilgor, killed the famous ancient behemoth, Razor Claw and his family. Gurnisson and two battle mages, Gird and Oris, looked up to the warrior, respected his bravery and battle experience and joined him, becoming the earliest followers of the three. However, there were problems from the beginning. Kilgor and his followers were tasked with completely clearing an area of monsters and any threats that might attack the population. But the three lieutenants were surrounded and the power-hungry warrior had to free them. Gurnisson had to fight against a lot of wolf riders whom he fought surprisingly successfully, and by the time Kilgor got there, the goblin had cleared the northern part of the area and even gathered a small army. With this, he proved to the claimant to the throne that he could be an important henchman, so he always tried to give him warriors. Together they freed Gird and Oris, and together they completely exterminated the creatures in the area in less than a few months. Then came the part of the Festival of Life when the houses claiming the throne had to fight each other. Each house was prepared, but Kilgor and his minions became battle-hardened, tough and experienced warriors, accustomed to bloody and long battles. Gurnisson also became quite strong and dangerous warrior and even though there were famous or well-known barbarians in the enemy armies, Kilgor and his minions defeated every house. They then faced the King of Krewlod, Winston Boragus, and the remaining barbarians who supported him, but were eventually defeated by Kilgor and his lieutenants. The old king was beheaded by the usurper and Kilgor became the new king of Krewlod and Gurnisson becoming an important supporter.
Later on, he got an important role when the king's third wife, Kija, wanted to get her husband an extremely powerful artifact, the Sword of Frost, which the legendary elf, Gelu, wanted to destroy. However, the immortal hero Tarnum, who knew that if the two swords clashed, Enroth would be destroyed, stood in the way of the barbarians. Kija's troops and followers were defeated several times, so one of the king's strongest warriors, Gurnisson, joined her and this time they wanted to win a sure victory. The barbarians were waiting for the enemy in the tunnels beneath a giant glacier not far from the city of Volee, while they were also planning an attack in the direction of the forgotten elven city, but then Tarnum strike on them. The barbarians tried to trap him in the depths of the tunnels and attack the enemy from behind through the monolith gates, but on Tarnum's side also fought the infamous azure dragons, who had no opponent on the battlefield, and moreover, the experienced immortal hero controlled these monsters. Gurnisson fought to the end and was still a tough opponent, but in the end he was defeated. Since he was not seen again after his defeat, it is likely that he was killed by Tarnum or perished during the Reckoning.
Personality[]
Little is known about Gurnisson's personality, but it is certain that he was a loyal and persistent follower of Kilgor and played an important role in the rise of the tyrant king.
