“ | Guru Mack: Why are you still following me after all these years? Go! Run away, like the rest of them. They were right, I'm a fraud. I'm a false prophet, Norma. I'm not your god. You have wasted your life on a worthless man. Human. Not special. Not honest. Not good. And now, I'm old. And you are old, and childless, and poor and damned... Norma: [sobs] Guru Mack: Argh! You're never gonna leave, are you?! Because you are a slave. A meek little servant, and you'll never be anything else. And if I didn't tell you where to go and what to do you would have no self at all. Nothing! Silent nothing! Worshipping nothing! Speak, woman. F***ING SPEAK! You won't, will ya? And you know why? Because you have nothing to say! |

Biography[]
Orange is the New Black[]
In a flashback, we see a young Norma Romano walk into a sermon being delivered by Guru Mack. Mack seems charismatic, welcomes Nora, and asks her to introduce herself. However, Norma, suffering from a severe stutter, cannot explain her reasoning for joining Mack. Mack tells Norma he doesn't need to hear Norma's words to be able to understand her, which comforts her greatly.
Some time later, Mack holds a series of weddings with his female followers. He has his followers repeat a mantra about him being their father and guide in life. At first, it appears it is just Norma and Mack marrying, before Mack continues to marry multiple more women. Norma overhears two followers complaining that the ceremony is freaking them out, and that one had to provide Mack with his car as part of his admission to the cult.
Decades later, everyone except Norma has abandoned Mack. Mack becomes resentful toward Norma, who tries to reinvigorate their following. Mack becomes increasingly aggressive to Norma, and tries to abandon her. Norma follows Mack, which prompts him to ask why she still follows him. Norma indicates it is because of him and the meaning he brought to her life. Mack reveals to Norma he made up his spirituality and powers and is a crook. Norma refuses to believe this and tries to get him to stop, but Mack doubles down and starts to insult her for being silent, childless and weak. This angers Norma, who then pushes Mack to his death off of a cliff, before finally mustering an insult in spite of her stutter.
