Gustavo Zapata, nicknamed "El Oso", is the deuteragonist of the FX crime drama Snowfall. A Mexican wrestler, Gustavo joins the cocaine game when he is recruited into the Villanueva cartel family by Pedro Villanueva and Lucia Villanueva, forming a close bond with Lucia.
He is one of the three protagonist alongside Franklin Saint and Teddy McDonald.
He was portrayed by Sergio Peris-Mencheta, who also played Hugo Martinez in Rambo: Last Blood.

Gustavo Zapata's personality is very protective towards those he loves like Lucia and very honorable and respectful towards others, Oso is not like other criminals, he became a criminal after a series of mistakes, the most serious being that of having killed a man during a robbery in his house and from that moment his psyche changed starting to follow a bad path of crime and becoming Lucia Villanueva's bodyguard.
