Gustavo Miranda Garfias is the main antagonist of the story "El Chivo y Maru" from the 2000 Mexican Academy Award nominated film Amores Perros.
He was portrayed by Mexican actor Rodrigo Murray
Biography
Gustavo is a nervous insecure businessman who pays the homeless man and hitman "El Chivo" to kill his partner and half-brother Luis, El Chivo accepts the job but various events make Chivo reconsider the situation and instead of murdering Luis, he kidnaps him and brings him to his house, where Chivo tells him Gustavo commissioned him to kill him, Luis then tells him Gustavo is his half-brother, Chivo feels disgusted by this and decides to do something about it.
Chivo calls Gustavo lying on Luis´s death and tells him to bring the money to his house, when Gustavo arrives Chivo invites him to enter (even though Gustavo didn't wanted to), inside, Chivo leads him to where he keeps Luis tied from the wrists and chest, Gustavo horrified tells Chivo with a stuttering voice that killing Luis was his job but Chivo confronts him and gives him the gun ans tells him to kill Luis by himself but he doesn't dare to, then Chivo grabs the gun and points it to Luis and asks Gustavo if he wants him to kill him but Gustavo scared and crying can't say anything, then Chivo points the gun at Gustavo and asks Luis if he wants him to kill him, even though Luis had his mouth covered he implied yes, but Chivo instead knocks Gustavo unconscious, then Chivo steals his money, coat, shirt, sells his and Luis´s cars and ties Gustavo by the foot and straps his chest in front of Luis, he unties Luis's wrists not before also stealing his cell-phone and leaves a gun between Gustavo and Luis and then leaves the house to fix his life, Luis and Gustavo stare at the gun and after a while they both fight to reach it with Luis threatening Gustavo to kill him, both Luis and Gustavo´s fates are unknown
