Monekys see, monkeys do! Stop the tests before we do!
~ HAAT catchphrase.

Humanity Against Animal Testing, also known as the HAAT are minor antagonists in POSTAL 2: Paradise Lost. They are a group of violent animal lovers who want to end all animal testing in Paradise and free all animals in the CCCP animal shelter and laboratory if that means killing innocent people. However, their role as antagonists is that despite attacking the Postal Dude in the animal shelter and the laboratory adjacent to it, they don't become one of the hate groups.

Ideology[]

The HAAT members as a group of demonstrators are generally well-meaning because they believe that testing drugs on animals and keeping them in cages causes animal suffering on an unprecedented scale. Therefore, they want to stop all animal testing and release animals from their cages at the local animal shelter.

However, they are quite aggressive, brutal, ruthless and unfortunately so convinced in their ideology that they are willing to force their way into the Paradise shelter to free all the animals in it. Their violent behavior can also be a sign of mental illness, but such behavior seems to be the norm in the Postal universe. However, even though they attack the Postal Dude in the shelter, they don't become a hate group (Food Technicians take over their role as a hate group).

Gameplay[]

On Monday, when the Postal Dude is in search of his dog Champ, he heads to the nearby Creature Control Center and Pets animal shelter. In front of the Paradise Mall shelter, he sees a group of HAAT members protesting against animal testing with banners bearing signs such as "Animals are people too", "Save every Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z", "It's a mad house!" "Say no to three headed monkeys", "Animal testing drives me bananas!", "Primates are my mates". When the Postal Dude checks all the dog kennels, realizing that Champ is not there, HAAT members break into the shelter and at the same time free the animals and the elephant from the cages and start a shootout with the scientists and the Postal Dude.

To survive the day, the Postal Dude has to fight the protestors who have broken into the building. They are not extremely armed, and they are easy to defeat, and with the Postal Dude's additional help, there are mutant monkeys in the laboratory that fight picketers, but this does not change the fact that he should generally not watch out for them.

After completing the task, the HAAT members will not attack the Dude as soon as they spot him, although those inside the shelter will continue to attack him.
