The HYDRA Buyer is a minor antagonist in the 2015 Marvel film Ant-Man. He is a HYDRA and Ten Rings agent who works for Mitchell Carson until the events of the film.
He was portrayed by Rod Hallett.
Role
As part of a deal between Carson and Darren Cross over selling the Yellowjacket technology to HYDRA, Carson brought in several HYDRA agents, including the HYDRA buyer, to the Pym Technologies HQ to finalize their payment. Having become insane due to the effects of the Pym Particles that he stole from Hank Pym, Cross extended the deal to the HYDRA agents: they would have to kill Pym and pay Cross double for the suit.
Eventually, the deal was interrupted by Pym's daughter Hope van Dyne and Scott Lang, who caught wind of the plot. During the confusion, the HYDRA buyer holds Hope at gunpoint as she threatens to kill Cross if he doesn't stand down. Rather than obliging to Hope's demands, Cross instead decides to kill both Hope and her father, but Lang utilized his Ant-Man suit to stop it, knocking out all of the HYDRA agents (including the HYDRA buyer) in the process. The HYDRA buyer eventually recuperated just in time in an attempt to shoot down Hope, but Lang punches him out in the face, rendering him unconscious. The HYDRA buyer would later be killed along with his fellow agents in the explosion of Pym Technologies HQ due to the explosives that Lang has implanted inside.
