The Hades Beastman Garim the Gremlin is the minor antagonist of Mahou Sentai Magiranger, appearing in Episode 20 as the primary antagonist.
He is the gremlin themed Beastman at the service of Infershia and under the command of Meemy. He is Meemy's old friend, who enjoyed causing mischief and occasionally spoke French. He was sent by Meemy to attack the Surface Realm and use a special magic madou item, the Calamity Loving Pen to cause chaos while aiding in N Ma's resurrection by using the extracted fear from his victims as ink for his pen that he used to make a giant Madou Circle (similar to Dark Magic Knight Wolzard's Madou Symbols) to sacrifice every human within it. While doing his villainous plan of Tokyo destruction, he brought the attention of Magirangers and fought the heroes. He is the first Beastman to be summoned by Meemy and to fight the Magirangers.
He was voiced by the late Taiki Matsuno.
Biography[]
In the twentieth episode, Meemy freed one lost soul and transformed it into the Beastman, creating Garim the Gremlin. Nei and Mea greeted Garim, as they had history together. Garim hand came off. It exploded into a prank. Memmy gave his minion a special pen and sent him to the surface to attack Tokyo. Memmy told Nei & Mea, that instead of opening the gate, he planned to revive N Ma all together. For this goal he needed many human sacrifices.
Gremlin attacked Tokyo and started terrorizing the citizens. The monster grabbed a woman by the legs and hanged her from a bridge against traffic. He made a man crash into a pole and the pen charged up with red liquid. He cut an electric wire and it explodes where the crashed car man is.
The Magirangers got the call and arrived to the city to stop the monster. Gremlin drew on the floor graffiti. The Rangers arrived. The heroes saved the people and then encountered the Gremlin. They were surprised Garim could talk. The heroes transformed and fought the villain. Kai used his MagiPunch but Gremlin sinks to the ground and it causes an explosion. Gremlin can extends his arms and threw the MagiRed away. He dived in the ground and hit the rangers. He then hit them by the heads. He put scissors to a bar and when he teased them to come closer, a frog made glass reflect light to them. They back up and the bar fell. Gremlin then retreated and fleed away.
The siblings returned to their Ozu house and started thinking what was Gremlin's plan. Urara noticed that Garim was writing graffiti on the ground and siblings started thinking that intentions did the villain planned. Urara handed her siblings a sketch, saying she was trying to predict the Gremlin's graffiti. The MagiBlue saw the three different writing in the same three places. She said she had seen this pattern before.
Meanwhile, Gremlin has found a new spot to scribe. It was the last spot. He had already finished his drawing and the Magiranger arrive. Urara washed the symbol out. She said it iwas a Madou Circle. She remembered it was from Wolzard's circle. Gremlin explained that all humans within the circle will die by Memmy's magic. The heroes were about to attack the monster, but he stopped them with his magic. He extended his hand to Kai, saying to have a shake of reconciliation. Gremlin's hand turned into a hammer and boped them on their heads. Gremlin zapped all of them.
Urara fought the villain and was overpowered and beaten by Gremlin. He grabbed her by the throat and knocked her down. Urara un-transformed and the monster was about to attack and kill her, when Hikaru the frog jumped on him. Gremlin threw the frog down. Kai fought Gremlin as Urara crawled to the frog, touched that he saved her. The others fought Gremlin as Urara stared at the frog. The frog asked her again to be kissed. As MagiBlue kissed him, Gremlin reached out and tried to attack the girl and the frog. He began to glow and levitated to the air, transforming into a handsome young man. He landed to his feet and tokk his henshin device and put a card to it. The power from his card blew the Gremlin away. He told the Rangers he was a Heavenly Saint Sungel. He cursed Raigel and turned him into a mummy but as a side effect, he was turned into a frog.
Sungel then transformed into the MagiShine and summoned Smoky to help him. Gremlin then summoned Zobils to aid him against Sungel. After defeating Zobils with his Magi Lamp Blaster, Sungel started fighting and overwhelmed Gremlin. The villain tried to sink into the ground, but Sungel shot him, taking him out of the ground. Sungel then destroyed the monster with his Smoky Shine Attack, ending the villain's plan.
