This is...the strength of courage...that Sphinx mentioned?! Indeed it is...
~ Hades Ultimate God Sleipnir's last words before his death.

The Hades Ultimate God Sleipnir is the second-in-command and the de facto leader of the Infershia Pantheon and a major antagonist of Mahou Sentai Magiranger, appearing as the secondary antagonist of the final arc of the season.

He is Dagon's second-in-command, war advisor and the dark knight themed Ultimate God of the Infershia Pantheon. Despite being the second-in-command of the Infershia Pantheon, he is actually the true leader of the Infershia Gods, while Dagon was the figurehead and the de jure leader.

He was one of N Ma's top servants and one of the archenemies of the Magirangers, as well as one of their most powerful and dangerous enemies. Sleipnir was Dagon's top enforcer and war adviser and helped his master to resurrect N Ma and help him return to his full power and conquer the Surface Realm with the best of his abilities. Throughout the season, Dagon and Sleipnir created and tried multiple plans and tactics of reviving their master N Ma and restoring him to his full power. However, Magirangers frequently foiled and ruined their plans. Sleipnir is the second most powerful of the Infershia Gods and one of the most powerful servants of N Ma. He seems nearly invincible and wields a lance, sword and shield in battle.

He was voiced by the late Hideyuki Umezu in Japanese.

Biography[]

After N Ma was again destroyed by Isamu's sacrifice, it activated a fail safe in the awakening of the Infershian Pantheon. Once revived, with Vancuria as a witness, Dagon and the other Hades Gods rose from the Earth and he introduced them, saying they were the humans' punishers and have surfaced to tell humans to wallow in despair for the judgment they will execute. When Magirangers tried to interfere with their MagiLegend Robo, Sleipnir easily defeated the Robo with one hit. As Hikaru explained to the Ozu siblings, the Infershian gods' punishment on the surface can not be interfered as the act would threaten Magitopia while ensuring the return of N-Ma in his full glory.

As the Magirangers battle the gods chosen to deliver the judgement, Dagon realized that there is no sign of N Ma's return and learns that his master's soul was sealed within the body of Isamu as Wolzard. Resolving to deal with Wolzard, acting against their laws with Sphinx's disapproval, Dagon arranged for Slepnir to aid Drake in fighting the Magirangers together to lure Wolzard into the open so Vancuria can place one of Dagon's scales on the dark knight. When Drake fought the Magirangers and enforced the Divine Punishment, Dagon sent Sleipnir to aid Drake in battle in order to lure Isamu and Skeipnir did it, even so it violated the Dark Precepts and Sphinx protested Dagon's decision. Sleipnir arrived at the Surface Realm in his Hades Chariot, pulled by Dark Magic Horse Barikion-like horses. He successfully overpowered and took down the MagiLegend, but Blagel arrived as Supreme Ruler of Darkness WolKaiser and helped his children by defeating Sleipnir and pulling him back to Infershia.

Later in the forty-fifth episode, the gods had a ceremony of choosing the one god to give his body as a vessel for N Ma. Sleipnir offered himself to be the vessel of Absolute God. However, Titan was eventually chosen to be the vessel of their master, but Titan betrayed the gods and had a change of heart and turned good, joining the Magirangers. However, despite Titan's best efforts to escape and avoid being the vessel of N Ma, Dagon captured Titan, killed him and used his body to revive the evil Infershia God.

Later, after N Ma was revived by taking over Titan's body, he sent Sphinx to enforce the Divine Punishment on the Surface. However, Sphinx had a change of heart and refused to destroy the Human World and Dagon and Sleipnir were enraged. Dagon and Sleipnir then executed Sphinx for her betrayal, and together attacked the Surface World. Sleipnir was sent by Dagon to replace Sphinx and enforce the Divine Punishment in order to lure Magirangers. While Dagon fought Miyuki Ozu on the ground, Sleipnir fought the Magirangers and again easily overpowered their MagiLegend Robo. He knocked out the siblings on the ground, demorphing them from their Ranger forms. Dagon then defeated Miyuki and kidnapped her, taking her to the Infershia. Before leaving Dagon ordered Sleipnir to finish the Magirangers. The Magirangers were in despair, but Kai managed to compose himself and overwhelmed Sleipnir by knocking him down and shattering his shield, and the Rangers used their Five Fantastic Aerial Attack to kill him off. As Sleipnir died, he finally realized exactly what Sphinx said about how their power could not compare to the Magirangers' courage.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen[]

However, Sleipnir was revived in Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen, as a member of the Shocker Zangyack Alliance, who eventually fought the army of Kamen Riders and Super Sentai. He is briefly seen pushed back by Gokai Red, and briefly seen fighting FiveBlue, FiveYellow, GekiYellow in the second aerial fight scene. Along with Nurikabe, Kasha, a Makamou, Hades God Cyclops, and Hades God Drake. He was defeated by the Magirangers and Kamen Rider Hibiki.

Personality[]

Sleipnir is a highly cold-hearted, brutal, ruthless and warmongering Hades God, who will stop at nothing to destroy the Magirangers and help his masters N Ma and Dagon conquer the Surface World and plunge the universe into the eternal darkness. He is highly cold, unrelenting, tyrannical and serious, always speaks with a serious and low-pitched voice and takes the orders of the Absolute God and the Judgement Stone seriously. Sleipnir is also fanatically loyal to N Ma and Dagon and loyally follows his orders. However, just like Dagon, Sleipnir followed the Dark Precepts, while he believed that they would help Infershia resurrect and return N Ma. After Dagon and Sleipnir realized that the Dark Precepts wouldn't help them return N Ma, they easily broke them and created their own plan of destroying the Magirangers and reviving the Absolute God.

After that they cared only about N Ma's revival and were willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to achieve their goals of the world domination. Sleipnir was willing to aid Drake in his battle with the Magirangers, even though it was unfair battle, because they were the two Hades Gods and also this violated the Dark Precepts. Arguably their most vile and unfair crime was murdering Sphinx, who was their own comrade and loyally followed their orders. And it was an extremely cruel, because they executed their own comrade who was loyal to them and only disobeyed their orders because she didn't want to hurt the innocent people.

Sleipnir is also highly thrill-seeking and arrogant, considers himself the best and takes pleasure from going to the battle and fighting the Magirangers for his own satisfaction. He prefers to use his Dark Chariot in battle and often underestimates his enemies, just like he underestimated the Magirangers and was finally defeated by them.

Overall, Sleipnir showed no redeeming qualities is nothing more than arrogant and ruthless psychopath that was willing to fanatically follow his masters and achieve world domination. However, despite his evil, ruthless and arrogant nature, Sleipnir's final scene was taken sympathetically. In his final moments he realized the power of the courage that Sphinx earlier told him and instead of panicking, he calmly and peacefully accepted and succumbed to his defeat, admitting the power of courage.
