“ | Mordecai: You guys are supposed to be cool! Oggy: We are cool. That's why we destroyed that loser's drum kit. Gunnar and Bass Player: Ooh! Mordecai: No way. I don't care how good your first album was. You're just a bunch of jerks. Oggy: Fine. If that's how you feel, we're officially stripping you of your unofficial roadies status. Mordecai and Rigby: Fine! Oggy: Don't bother showing up to the concert. Hair to the Throne, out. |

~ Hair to the Throne after destroying Benson's drum kit. |
Hair to the Throne are the main antagonists of the Regular Show episode "150 Piece Kit". They are a hair metal band that Benson used to be part of before he was replaced with a drum machine called the Drumotron VI.
The band has three human members: lead singer Oggy Oggstrom, guitarist Gunnar von Strauss and a bass player. They are voiced by Roger Craig Smith, Mark Hamill and William Salyers respectively.
History[]
Benson was originally the drummer of Hair to the Throne and performed a legendary drum solo on their first album. Because of this, he was fired from the band since they didn't want him to be more famous than the rest of them. Benson's replacement was the Drumotron VI, which played a pre-recorded version of the solo. Hair to the Throne went on to become famous and considered one of the greatest bands of all time. Their fans included the Park gang, with Muscle Man saying that listening to their music helped him through high school.
When Hair to the Throne comes to the Park for their concert, Benson confronts them. The band denies he played the drum solo, saying it was always the Drumotron VI. They give the rest of the Park staff backstage passes and make them their honorary roadies. After setting up their instruments and performing a soundcheck, Hair to the Throne tricks Mordecai and Rigby into taking them to Benson's drum set and destroys it. Mordecai and Rigby quit as their roadies and help Benson fix and set up the drum set during the concert. When Benson starts performing his drum solo, the band tries to stop him and fights the groundskeepers. They start destroying drums with the Drumotron as Benson is playing, but are too late. When Benson plays the gamelan from a 360-degree ascending sky cage lifted by a crane, Oggy is confident that he will fail, but Benson continues to perform with success even as the Drumotron flies on top of him. At the end, Benson produces a sound wave powerful enough to blow the band members' hair away and make them bald. After Benson finishes the solo, the band apologizes for their past behavior and asks him to rejoin them, but he turns them down.
Hair to the Throne makes a cameo in "The Thanksgiving Special" as among the many backup singers of Richard Buckner's song at the Thanksgiving song contest.
Trivia[]
- The band resembles Bon Jovi and its members are also based on real-life rock musicians: Oggy Oggstrom is likely based on Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, though he bears a closer physical resemblance to Robert Plant or Sammy Hagar, the lead singers of Led Zeppelin and Van Halen respectively. Gunner von Strauss is likely based on the late guitarist Eddie Van Halen. The bass player resembles Cliff Williams, the bass player of AC/DC.
- Originally, the band was called Rock Icon Hair to the Throne, but it was changed so it would reference the band Heir to the Throne.
