Hairo; alternatively written as Hairō or Hairou (japanese 佩狼) was a major antagonist of the manga series Demon Slayer, serving as the main antagonist of the second part of the spin-off manga Kyojuro Rengoku Gaiden. He was a member of the Twelve Kizuki that held the rank of Lower Rank Two at the time before he was killed by Kyojuro Rengoku making him the Flame Hashira.

Appearance[]
Hairo was a demon with spiky dark hair that are tossed toward the back, sharp teeth, and dark iris along with the two kanjis “Lower Two (下弐)” on his left pupil. His face had many grey spiky patterns similar to the shape of his hair. He wore a police uniform that consist of a white officer hat with a dark front and wolf , a cape-like dark coat adorned with collars and his outfit finishes with dark boots and pants.
Personality[]
Hairo had suffered from terrible mistreatment in his time that he spent as a human when he was a member of the Shinsengumi. This led him to struggle to control his emotions, as well as display anger and suicidal actions such as shooting his own head to calm himself down. Neverthless, he still shown some signs of modesty aside from his highly arrogant nature.
Abilities[]
- Enhanced Speed: He displays incredible movement speed allowing to appear to right behind Mitsuri before she couldn’t take any action.
- Skilled Torturer: Even before becoming a powerful demon, he possessed great knowledge on tortures such as knowing which part of the body can cause the highest pain. This talent branches to his pleasure of inflicting and enjoy his victims’ suffering and fear.
- Umbrakinesis/Shadow Manipulation: Hairo’s Blood Demon Art allows him to manipulate and summon figures of shadow. Seemingly being able to form other forms of animals, Hairo chooses to create shadows in the form of wolves to make his attacks more dangerous. He is also able to absorb any incoming attacks and projectiles to protect himself as well as being able to store presumably a boundless amount of objects that he uses to store items such as numerous guns and a collection of katana that he gathered form the hashiras he has eliminated in the past as trophies. Furthermore targets that are being trapped in the shadows have a low chances to escape.
- Large Arsenal of Weapons: Thanks to his ability that allows him to gather extremely large amount of items, he is able to summon an extremely large amount of ranged weapons such as mini-guns, shotguns, hand guns, pistols and etc. He can make the weapon appears in almost any location that allows him to take contact with his shadow to make traps as well as on his wolves and even himself. Although the guns aren’t generated from his own ability but are in fact real thus the weapons can run out of ammos and as well as breaking.

- He, alongside Genya Shinazugawa, is one of the two only Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters who fights with guns.
- Hairō resembles a cross between a sailor and a policeman in his design.
