~ A argument between Sam and the Director about Rebecca's work. |
The Hameln Director, more simply referred to as the Director, is the overarching antagonist of the indie horror game Amanda the Adventurer.
He is then presumed leader of Hameln Entertainment, a company that performed various tests on Rebecca Colton; the daughter of Sam Colton as well as the voice actress of Amanda the Adventurer, which he appears to run the animated show. One of these tests involves her reciting satanic rituals, which he claims is actually meant to train the technology's dynamic voice reaction, even though Rebecca was hesitant to do it.
He was portrayed by Aran Keating.
Personality[]
The Director’s motives remain unclear, but it can be assumed he is an incredibly manipulative and greedy individual who does not hesitate to harm a child. He insists that Rebecca reads the rituals assigned to her, despite her clear hesitation. The Director is portrayed as a shady character, attempting to divert Sam’s attention from Rebecca's recording sessions when he senses something amiss and lying about their true nature.
Displaying traits commonly associated with sociopaths, the Director lacks empathy and exhibits a manipulative demeanor. He demonstrates considerable intelligence, or at least enough cunning to temporarily sway Sam to his side. Additionally, he is combative and defensive when questioned about his motives. When Sam expresses concern about the phrases Rebecca is made to read and the increasing demands placed on her, the Director rudely dismisses him, telling Sam to "go take a walk for a few minutes," revealing his true nature and priorities.
Biography[]
After the unexpected success of Sam Colton's series, Amanda the Adventurer, the Hameln Entertainment company took interest in turning his live-action production into an animated series, which Sam eventually agreed to. In one of the secret tapes, the Director, inadvertently being recorded by someone eavesdropping on the conversation, is shown interacting with Sam during production of the series; trying to sway him away from being concerned about the demands the company has been putting on his daughter Rebecca to create the series.
After attempting to leave the company, Sam is reported to have gone missing, and representatives of the company tried to avoid getting the company noticed when the disappearance of his daughter also makes people suspicious, posting a public statement on the matter. Afterwards, the Director appears to have Rebecca sign a contract, though the exact purpose of it is unknown. Afterwards, he orders for Rebecca to get locked up in a heavily guarded secret room in the Hameln headquarters.
Trivia[]
- It is implied that he is the head of Hameln Entertainment due to the employees' interactions with him and how he's the one Sam talks to regarding Hameln's affairs.
- It is unknown what the Director's overall goal is regarding the show and summoning the demons, but it is very likely it was for personal gain.
- One possibility is that he was summoning the demons to sell the souls of children to obtain immortality or forbidden knowledge.
- Another possibility is that he was hoping to exploit the show and convince the demons to expand the show's influence for profit.
